Bolton 1-0 at half time. Vela looks good and the wanderers keeper made a couple of great saves. Bolton had two or three good opportunities to extend the lead late in the half.

3-0 now. Riley with a goal. Nothing to say the scorer of the 2nd.

Its clear we should play the kids in The Premier League and the first team for the reserves. Problem solved. BWFCi can sleep easy now, its concrete evidence we're going to win the League at a canter.

Just got back from the game. We had two trialists playing as centre halves today, a spanish lad called Haime and a lad called Eckersley who both impressed. Joe Riley stood out as the MOTM with some really neat football and some great finishing supported well by Vela who I was surprised was playing today given he was on the verge of the first team at the end of last season. A Sampson header finished off a great team move.

I've ignored up to this point, but its getting tedious now. I'm hardly known for being negative, if you care to look at how I've posted on here over the past 5 or 6 years. I'm pretty much always looking to see the best in the situation. As the last few years will testify. Unlike some others who I shall not bother naming.

I've stood by the club, season ticket after season ticket, have never ever ever said "I'm not going unless....." the ultimate in tit wankery. If you honestly think I'm the most "depressed" fan about our chances next season then I suggest you're very sheltered. One or two regulars I know are worse, if you read browse WWays there are people with far more gloomy outlooks than I present on there for example. As I've said before I expect us to bring in the 5 we need before the season starts or at least 3/4 and the rest before 31st August (if we don't then I don't think there is a lot to be positive about which is my point). The trick will be picking the right players.

But fooking hell I'll support the club and go with hope whoever the manager, whatever the league and whatever the circumstances. But if I'm worried along the way then I'll say so on here.

I'm certainly not shouting for heads or sackings or bloody board takeovers. If I express concern then its cos its how I view the situation. And I'd take a bet that if we did a poll across the fanbase I'd have more agreeing with where I think we are than not!

With regards to this trailist called Eckersley it wouldn't happen to be the Tom Eckersley featured on this page would it?

Never heard of this Haime guy though.

If he's red headed though it might be this guy: http://www.teamtalk.com/bolton-wanderer ... ns-Shakers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So preseason results don't count?

I've always maintained that pre-season results are a complete irrelevance.

The state of your squad is the relevant bit. The quality of the players that make up your squad and its depth are the only things that give an indicator of how well you're going to do.

I couldn't have cared less about losing to Tampa. It doesn't matter at all. And I said so at the time!

Go back every pre-season and I've always desperately predicted we'll do well. Because before the season starts its important to stay positive. Even when Lee was manager I was fooking hopeful on here. The Wembley shambles and the end of last season has sucked some of that hope out of me I'm afraid. I'm not the only one, not even the only one on here. Perhaps I shouldn't post it, but you know its just how I see it. I trust Coyle and Gartside to do the things we need, and I'll continue trusting till proven otherwise!

It certainly looks like Tom Eckersley though he wouldn't be a trialist if he is on the club's books already. I know its only Chorley FC but both players looked pretty accomplished and with Bennett on loan and Connolly looking to break through into the first team they should be regular starters for the reserves this season.

I start the season with "I hope we'll finish at least 17th" everything's a bonus from there in - hopefully.

We look woefully short on people able to put the ball in the net at the minute. And yes more back up in midfield please.

That said, I seem to recall with our signings through the last couple of transfer windows, we were going to have a whip round for a parking permit somewhere near to Bolton Town Hall steps for you. ;-)
