The season preview season is upon us. This chappie pencils us in for 10th pretty much on the basis of this new transfer thread - if you read between the lines. I'd take it. We have a bad start to the schedule - with no Holden, Ricketts or Eave about - worried we get in a hole and the confidence evaporates.

Didn't read the other thread til just now. Are you inferring that this thread is behind the times?

It's tough with two on the go - one should die.

I was just thinking the same thing. Once I get my four signings I'll happily close the thread and bask in the eternal glory of being the most successful TRANSFER thread eva![on a signing per page basis]. Then I can ride my high horse on over to TKIZ's thread and pay out on him on slow days!

A fan's view of our upcoming season - although it was Jonny Evans not John O'Shea who crippled Holden.

Reo Coker passes medical and signs 2 year deal.

Mears and Eagles pass theirs, deal length unknown.

Announcement this afternoon or first thing tomorrow.

Good work, Owen, and good work Mullayo

Happy with all three if'n'when it happens. Been a fan of getting Reo Coker for years. Gives us a hustling, bustling midfield with Holden, Pratley, Muamba and Mavies. Should free up the wingers to bomb forward more. There were a lot of games last season where we got in front or were even and conceded late goals possibly pushing forward too much or maybe in need of fresh horses. Holden hardly ever got substituted.

Now if we get one up we can take Lee or Petrov off and put Coker or Mears on the right and bring on Muamba or Pratley rather than the attack minded Mavies and control the game and not get caught on counter attack.

Eagles is very versatile can cover either wing and will get regular game time doing it. Mears is quicker than our other backs and good going forward. He was also apparently Burnley's most consistent player.

You left out Mark Davies, though I suppose he'll be spending most of his time on the sidelines as usual. Fingers crossed he stays fit, though trends seem to indicate he won't.

Reo Coker about to put pen to paper in your part of the world with Eagles and Mears passing their physicals which hopefully included a mandatory and more manly haircut for Eagles.

Do the math, that gives me three signings in three pages of this insanely successful thread. I'll save you the time of going getting an abacus, that's one signing per page and pretty much per diem.
clearly, you are a God.

(btw, in the UK, it's maths, with an 's').

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... Wanderers/

The Bolton News has achieved the dubious feat of confirming Reo Coker's signing yet somehow making it seem less likely than before.

Reo-Coker met with Coyle on the manager’s return from their pre-season tour in the US at the weekend but did not discuss personal terms until yesterday afternoon.

Reports yesterday suggested the deal had hit a snag over wages, but the 27-year-old’s agent, Tony Finnigan, remains confident a deal will be struck early this week.

“We had a brilliant meeting with the manager, it couldn’t have gone any better,” he said.

We’ve got a bit more to sort out in a meeting today but I’ve been really pleased with how things have gone with Bolton.”

the PSG transfer-thread signing-standard is the only truly reliable one...
