Official Reserves and Youth Team thread

Post by Lofthouse Lower » Wed Jul 27, 2011 4:18 pm

Seeing as I get just as much enjoyment from watching the 2nds and 3rds as I do the firsts I thought I'd create this thread for anyone out there who feels the same 8)

Good 2-0 win for the lads last night vs Nantwich, game involved L'Amine from Real Madrid B, and Dino from Deutschland. who did well. Scorers were Eckersley and O'Halloran. Another clean sheet for Lainton, with Lynch only making the bench (who has to be the best goalkeeping prospect I've seen in years). Josh Vela and Obadeyi played well too.

The youth team are also over in Norn Iron for the Milk Cup - one win and one loss so far, the excellent Zach Clough being the star man as usual - I'll stake my hat on him making the first team.

Current Academy Intake

1st Lewis Fielding GK
1st Ben Hampson DF
1st Ben Dennis DF
1st Andrew Kellett DF
1st Oscar Threlkeld DF
1st Ćonnor Jonathan Magaña MF
1st John Popoola FW

2nd Jay Lynch GK
2nd Alex McQuade DF
2nd Nathan Battersby DF
2nd Lewis Proudfoot DF
2nd Liam Irwin MF
2nd Graeme MacGregor MF
2nd Ryan Stayte MF
2nd Raphael Duyile MF
2nd Oluwasanmi Odelusi FW

Hopefully some others will contribute otherwise I'll just update for my own enjoyment :fingers:

you can tell just off the names that the one with all the accents and cedillas (carons?) in his name will be the best one.

Oops meant to take him out, he was let go.

Will update with the new list shortly - but yeah, as I said, watch out for young Zach Clough.

Their names are on there, but I'm struggling to dig any more up. It's the second appearance (at least) by the German lad, so they must think he's worth a closer look.

This all looks a bit too objective at the moment. You've told us that some of them look ok.

Please could you stick to your normal spiel and tell us which ones among them are shit, fat and useless?

Then we can keep an eye out for them should they ever threaten the first XI.

That would be much more helpful.

He'll be too busy travelling to Barcelona to watch plenty of Jeffren.

Reet

Lets have a sweep

Total number of first team appearances, league games for us only, by that mob by May 2087

I confidently predict ZERO

Depends what division we're in. The higher the division, the less the chance. But some might go on to represent lower-league clubs, with sales and sell-ons hopefully paying the Academy's way.

No, I saw it, but dealt with it in that second sentence. The third one deals with an afterlife but an important one, which makes the difference between a liability and an asset.
