Terrible news.

I'll wait for the official medical news before I jump in the Croal.

Don't like to get all Arsenalfan-ish but to break someone's leg in a pre-season match is disgraceful.

In a full-throttle match you can accept it as an accident, in a glorfied fecking knock-about it is ridiculous.

From what people have said it sounds as if he got done with some skill from Chung, got a bit excited trying to win the ball back and went for a ball he couldn't win. Telling that he got a yellow card but was immediately subbed off- apparently he was distraught- but not much comfort to Lee or Bolton. He's not going to be the one fronting the potential bill that comes with losing one of our best players!

Was this the lad who scored the own goal?

I wonder if we should be playing friendlies against teams way down the ladder. Slower players are perhaps more likely to miss time tackles against PL players.

FFS could and has happened in training. Can't blame the lad necessarily.

Must have been a bad tackle to be booked in a friendly. No idea at all whether there was malice though without seeing it. More bothered about losing Lee. Of our three top class players we now look like having one at most available for those horrendous opening games. Gulp.

Depends what the situation was. If it was the result of a poor challange then he deserves the critisism.

I'd agree with you if we were talking about a Premier League game, but players are told, in both training and pre-season friendlies, to err on the side of caution.

The speed pre-season games are played at should further reduce the chances of someone getting injured.

It was probably a rash rush of blood to the head, not even to 'do Chung' but just to win the ball, a bad/mistimed decision or whatever.

Unfortunetly he's not on the park anymore, he's playing with millionaire commodities.

By all accounts it was a very bad challenge, but before people jump on the lad, don't forget that SKD went in hard on Sodje at Bury midweek which has resulted in an injury. It sound's like this lads challenge was a lot worse, but think about what you say when saying things like "should we be playing these sort of teams in pre season?"

And he is supposed to give a feck why? He was playing football. The fact they are worth lots is of no importance to him. It should more be a case that it is pre-season so you go easy, not wanting to injure a fellow player at a crucial time. Until or unless you have seen the tackle bit pointless to speculate on any malice.

I'll state now that I am a Wycombe fan who happened to be at the game between Newport and Bolton today as I live in the area.

The tackle was very poor, two footed and high, what many would consider a traditional leg breaker. However it was without any malicious intent and the boy was clearly distraught. It has to be a bad one though as jaaskelainen was able to pass a message to the board before the player was off the pitch that it was a clear leg break. (Newport's ground allows you to stand around 1 meter behind the goal so hearing such things is not difficult).

Can only hope that Lee Chung-Yong recovers quickly and properly.

this could wreck our season really without him for the whole year possibly is beyond what i could have imagined, how someone can even atempt a rash challenge in a freindly like this is beyond me and with holden out too were looking like a very average team.

It's not the end of the world, maybe mavies could play there, Barton played on the right for toon last year and he's a centre mid or maybe we could push mears up in a bale type role for spurs, forwards still have to be our priority because it doesn't matter how many crosses we put in if there won't be anyone half decent to stock it in the back of the net.

Bloody hell, there's one hell of a game of Coyle Bingo to be had from that interview!

I like how the website are trying to play it down, only one paragraph on the injury. Who gives a fk about the result?!

Disgraceful pre-season schedule.
My guess about the result was right.

Could you please translate that in to English?

Also tell us about your guess for the result.... was it for a 3-1 win, a player would have his leg broken, Coyle would heap praise on the opposition manager before/after the game or the result would become secondary to the injury?

I've questioned them both for different reasons, but.... Klasnic and Davies > Eagles and Petrov.

Course, it's not an either/or situation. Or at least I hope it's not.
