Just took me back Life-on-Mars style to 1971 when it happened before. Could be a real possibility this scoreline!BwfcDan wrote:Bolton 0-6 Chelsea

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
In the same way that you have to "earn the right to play football" you, as a managaer, should have to earn the right to call other manager's fantastic pre-match.
Top half of the table, free-scoring, solid at the back, only lose occasionally by the odd goal... you have earned the right.
Bottom of the table... let's focus on our team as opposed to flattering the opposition.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Coming up on the train with a Chelsea-supporting mate for this tomorrow.
Hope the journey back isn't too miserable.

the optimism of this thread epitomises what it is to be a Bolton fan - and long may it continue!
I received in my email inbox today a reminder of a Kurt Vonnegut quote:

a legacy of weltschmerz - the perpetual condition of being a Bolton fan....Their eyes had met, and an inexpressibly sweet sense of eternal tragedy had passed between them, between their generations—a legacy of weltschmerz as old as humanity.

I just want the game to show some promise for our side.

Our record home defeat. It's happened twice. That was in the league cup after a very honourable 1-1 away draw (also went to that one). The second one I force myself never to recall.bettyrasta wrote:Just took me back Life-on-Mars style to 1971 when it happened before. Josh Vela put on twitter before:
"looking forward to tomorrow "
Maybe a hint to him being in the squad?

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
Which would therefore imply that there's a fair few who would otherwise be ahead of him in the pecking order out injured, or otherwise incapacitated...? I find that slightly worrying. Only slightly, because I am too busy worrying about our bad luck and current run of poor form to allow for much room to worry about much else...keveh wrote:Josh Vela put on twitter before:

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
It's not actually sport anymore though is it - us playing Chelsea and the likes. As such, I'll be watching whilst blowing the brass on Wainwright's down the boozer instead
May the bridges I burn light your way

Nice article on the Independent website http://www.independent.co.uk/news/peopl ... 64331.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Was just thinking of the Tranmere game around '00 or '01 when BSA told the players not to shave so as to not show them any respect. IIRC it worked at the time. Let's have a shaving amnesty until we win a game in the BPL.
Just about sums it up!Nigel Reo-Coker wrote:"We have shown what we can do football-wise but, equally, we need to show we can mix it with a bit of old-school roughness. It's time to start winning ugly."

That's not quite true, I'd say we've not shown any bottle since we beat Arsenal! I have a theory but that'll wait till after the game!officer_dibble wrote:Its just words though isn't it.they are all talk and no action. we havent shown any bottle since BSA!
