Bolton v Stoke

Post by BWFC_Insane » Mon Oct 31, 2011 1:51 pm

Might as well have a thread for this....

Stoke play away in Israel on Thursday. Couldn't ask for a better time to play them in that respect.

Team suggestions?

Id try...

Jussi
Steinsson Wheater Cahill Robbo
Eagles Muamba NRC M Davies
Tuncay
K Davies

I think we need K Davies in for defending set pieces. I'd give M Davies a "free role" off the left hand side, let him come deep and pick the ball up and run with it. Not constrain him to a wing. I'd tell NRC and Muamba to sit and protect the back four and win as much ball as possible.

Eagles would be told to stand on the touchline.

Tuncay would get a free role in behind K Davies and asked to run his knackers off closing down Stoke, and making a general nuisance of himself.

If we can't win this, then it has to be the end for Coyle really.

Let's hope it's not like the Hull game.

Stoke are a much, much better side than Hull were.

BWFC_I: I actually like the look of that set-up. Wings/full-backs still look incredibly flimsy, though not sure what more can be done about that until January. Think Tuncay could do a good job there, get us pressuring higher up the pitch. However, I would stick with Ngog up front. Still think he's got goals in him.

Happened against Arsenal. Didn't work terribly well - he's better at running at defences, not midfields.

0-3.

that's the line up i would go with apart from davo we are gonna resort to lobbing it forward to him and he wont get fvck all off ov there defenders

and i don't think it's fair to drop ngog who i think has done resonably well under the circumstances and has worked his socks off

davo know where near the team please

and reo-coker captain

Accepted but think we need someone to make things happen and M Davies is the best we've got to do that.

we need to break quickly

stoke are not the quickest team i would go as far to say they propably as slow if not slower than are lot

not pass it to midfield and back to defence than midfield and back again than a hopeless punt :eh:

its in embrassing it's a ball not a grenade

Yes, they are, but Hull didn't have to play on the Monday and then in Tel Aviv on the Thursday, did they?

I wouldn't go over board with changes. Gardner for Robinson is enforced, but other than that I'd just have Tuncay and Muamba in for Pratley and Petrov.

I think Reo-Coker has been woeful (can't attack, doesn't defend) but in theory he and Muamba should offer us some kind of bite in midfield. Tuncay was shit on the left of a 4-4-2, but he has a point to prove against Pulis and will run himself into the ground.

If we actually looked like a half decent team and drew 1-1 I'd be happy enough. Don't lose, and don't be shit.

Before we even start thinking about the flow of the game need to recognise that we're unbelievably soft from corners, and Israel or not, Stoke could easily score 2 from set pieces against us.
