Kung hey fat choi to all our former centre forwards.
Some people say that the club couldn't prevent Nicolas Anelka joining Chelsea and they're probably right.
If Chelsea offered me the chance to play for them (forget the money) I'd go.
However surely to Christ he'd rather be back playing for Bolton than for The Golden Dragon FC?
Offer him £100,000 a goal - it'd be worth it. He'd get 'em.
He couldn't be any worse than N'gog could he?
On that subject when we signed N'gog I thought he would get the goals (so maybe OC's can't be blamed for that). He was always in and out at Liverpool but when he came in he'd general score.
What's going on?

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

N'Gog was, is, and always will be second rate and mediocre. He doesn't have the technique to strike a ball from outside the area that will trouble goalkeepers, he's weak in the tackle, he doesn't have the killer instinct in the box, and he's shit in the air. He gets the occassional goal from fifteen yards out when all the luck runs with him.
Why do you think he was never a regular at Liverpool. Why do you think that Dalglish was so keen to get rid. He'll find his level in the First Div, or France.

Has N'Gog really been given chance to prove himself though...really?

He's only 22, so he's almost certainly going to get better as well as physically stronger. On the admittedly rare occasions I've seen him in a white shirt, he's showed decent ability with the ball at his feet, and he offers more mobility than either Davies or Klasnic (not hard, I know, but we need to stretch defences a bit). Liverpool fans are a lot pickier about their strikers than we can afford to be but even then not all of them saw him as deadwood - I know a few who would have preferred to loan him out and see whether he kicked on once he was getting regular games. Either way, given the paucity of our striking options, I don't see the point in paying £4m for him and then not giving him a run of games.

Nowhere near it.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Nope, don't think he has.Choppers wrote:Has N'Gog really been given chance to prove himself though...really?
Think we'll see him at left-back soon.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It comes down to manager preference and systems.
He wants a goal threat, so Klasnic
He wants a physical presence, so Davies
N'Gog isn't really either of those things to be honest

We could offer Anelka £1m per goal, I doubt he still wouldn't come. He's been offered a 2 year, £20m guaranteed contract in China. Best of luck to him.

except Coyle would stick him in at right back ahead of steinsson...Loyal White wrote:We could offer Anelka £1m per goal, I doubt he still wouldn't come. He's been offered a 2 year, £20m guaranteed contract in China. Best of luck to him.
