Would hate to see Le Toux leave Philadelphia Union
But boy could Bolton use him right now. I saw Holden and him chatting several times when Holden was at some of our games. The guy may be old in Premier league terms but I think his work rate and agressive physical style of play would make him an ideal fit.

Philadelphia star striker Sebastien Le Toux arrived in England on Wednesday ahead of a potential transfer to Bolton, United Kingdom-based sources told FOX Soccer Wednesday morning.
The Union are prepared to sell the 28-year-old French striker in a move that would allow Philadelphia to keep young attacker Danny Mwanga, around whom trade rumors have recently circulated. The move would also free the funds needed to replace the all-star Le Toux.
When the Philadelphia Union drafted a forward in the first round of the 2012 MLS Draft, it was believed they were preparing for the potential departure of Mwanga. Now, it turns out the team's marquee attacker is the one who will be leaving
The former Seattle Sounder began training with Bolton on Wednesday ahead of a transfer that could go through by the end of the week. If completed, the transfer would see Le Toux join fellow Major League Soccer all-star Tim Ream, who is awaiting a UK work permit to complete his own transfer to Bolton.
As the holder of a European Union passport, Le Toux would automatically qualify for a UK work permit, and could begin playing with Bolton immediately.
Le Toux has been the Union’s best player since the club began play in 2010 and has been one of the best attackers in MLS over the past two seasons. Since joining Philadelphia in its expansion season of 2010, Le Toux has generated 25 goals and 20 assists, leading the Union in both categories.
While replacing Le Toux’s production won’t be easy, the club does have a deep stable of forwards to pull, depth that includes Mwanga, US Under-23 striker Jack McInerney, first-round pick Chandler Hoffman and newly-acquired Costa Rican forward Josue Martinez.

He sounds pretty good, would he work well with Ngog? Defo think Holden has been helping us sound out a few US players up while on tour out there

I think he would. He is without doubt the most liked and respected player by the fans. His work ethic is amazing he pops up everywhere and doesn't know the meaning of let alone how to give up. He has pace skill and a great attitude he shares the ball when needed leads well and tackles hard. He reminds me of Davies in many ways.

28? Why are we bothering?

Cos we need someone to make an impact now not in 2 years time?boltonboris wrote:28? Why are we bothering?
No idea if this lad is good enough but we will see if he signs....
Re: Would hate to see Le Toux leave Philadelphia Union
Don't really get this. It's not like we're spending 8M on a 27-yo called Johan Elm....ohboltonboris wrote:28? Why are we bothering?

If true - give the lad a chance
He can't be any worse than the strikers we've got and 28 is still a decent age, sounds like he has pace, movement, tenacity and can score goals - therefore even if he's not the finished article he sounds 100% better than what we've currently got.

I'm guessing it's a low fee then.
Just doesn't seem like a Coyle type signing. When he spends money, they're usually young

As BWFCI said he will be signed to make an immediate impact. And lets face it we are desperate for another forward.boltonboris wrote:I'm guessing it's a low fee then.

Looks good to me, think he is only going to cost us 1m so nothing lost.

The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!
Re: Would hate to see Le Toux leave Philadelphia Union
Let's give him a chance before we start getting on his case, if he's as dynamic as young Holden we could be in for a treat
Pfffft.

PT, the classic "Cant be any worse than the ones we have". Love it. Course he can, all 4 are internnationals.
I dont know this lad from Adam but at least he is achievable inlike most people we have gone.for so far. Is he quick? Cos its pace we lack most up top IMO. I'd have a look at tgat Vaz Te chap at Barnsley myself...

Looks like a classic number 9 to me
