Marvin Sordell

Post by BWFC_Insane » Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:20 am

Ok, so now its official (pending the registration being confirmed, we've really done a Spurs on this) I just wanted a thread to discuss whether anyone has seen much of this lad and what their thoughts are?

I don't know anything about him, but like that at 20 he's played plenty of football, already made some U21 appearances and at least must be "battled hardened".

So surely on here some folk must have an idea of how good he is? On paper it seems a helluva deal, but sadly as we know football is played on grass.....

If Malky Mackay was prepared to scupper our interest (and his friendship with Coyle) he must be a decent bet. :conf:

Pedigree is right and we have been crying out for pace up top since Nathan Blake left, so fingers crossed...

Bench tonight?

Welcome, Martin!

I think so...

And to get England U21 caps when you're in a struggling Watford side, you must have something.

Had a look on the Watford boards last night, consensus was "tremendous ability and potential, good goalscorer, lazy with a poor workrate" also they all felt we'd "mugged" them with the price, which is nice!

Don't think he can play tonight; I think he would've needed to be registered midday Tuesday for that to happen.

He's going to be "paraded" tonight, assuming the registration is confirmed, so won't be in the squad.

I think technically he could be as long as his registration is completed. Thats what they were saying about Zamora yesterday at least....

Anyway, he won't be involved, probably been a very unsettling 24 hours for him.

Know nowt about him really. Save for the dreaded YouTube clips, which make him look decent (see Vs Israel in under 21 game).

But, like you say, on paper a good bet. Decent scoring record at one level lower than prem for a 19-year-old is a good indicator. Excited to see him over the next few years; it's also good that we got him for thee and a half years.

Marvin. There he is, "brain the size of a planet" and what's he asked to do ? .... sit on the bench.

Taking this thread back OT....

82 appearances for Watford and 27 goals.

Thats 1 in three and not all of them will be starts.

Decent enough.
