Re: stop subbin' muamba
It should be bloody obvious. As with the Newcastle game, 0-0 isn't too bad until he changes it.
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Right OK, people have been saying this for a while and I've never been convinced it would have made much difference. So I decided to be the one to get and get all of the figures and, well, decide for yourselves!

EDIT: and we only beat Wigan 3 - 1? Would have been four but Davies can't take penalties..

Re: stop subbin' muamba
So in summary.
Lost 1 of 8 when he's played for 90 minutes.
Won 1 of 7 when he's not started.
Conceded 2 goals in 5 out of 9 when he's been subbed and lost all 9.

I so wanted to argue with Worthy on this
but there's no denying that 90 min stat.
Astonishing.

Re: stop subbin' muamba
My concern with OC, all along this season, has been about making the best use of what we have, and stop being tactically naive.Wandering Willy wrote:I so wanted to argue with Worthy on thisbut there's no denying that 90 min stat.
Astonishing.
None of the extraneous crap about sending offs, wages, our ability to sign players etc. that people threw into the mix has changed that.
We're more solid as 4-5-1 and it actually feels different with 2 defensive midfielders than when HWSNBN played 4-5-1, as we seem to break quicker - and that's probably at the heart of a decent 4-5-1, the transition from defence to attack and t'other way round.
We needed to get shut of Robbo, who was becoming a liability - we've done that.
I'm slightly worried about Ngog. I think he's generally, the last month or so, held the ball up well and played a pretty good role for us, without ever looking like scoring (m)any, but he does assist that transformation from Def to Att.
Wheater scares the shite out of me every time someone runs towards him. Moreso than Knight.
The sub Muamba thing - and I agree with Bish to the extent that I'm sure some of the games we'd have lost anyhow and conceded more anyhow - is just bizarre - we might score an additional one, but we're more than likely to concede an additional two.
Plenty to argue with there - fill yer boots.

Re: stop subbin' muamba
im not worried about ngog, he is a good footballer. what worries me is both him and mark davies dont score a right lot. neitger does petrov. ngog and muambo dont. im more of an aerial threat sat in the east lower than knight..I think in that set up therefore Eagles carries our biggest goal threat...maybe we miss cahill in the opponents box more than our own.

Re: stop subbin' muamba
The issue for me is what OC is thinking, and how he sees us being successful. If subbing Muamba was part of successful or innovtative tactical thinking then great. However, OC's mindet appears to be nothing more complex than a childlike enthusiasm for having lots of attacking players on the pitch no matter how poor their end product is and no matter how vulnerable to conceding we become. We are a small, endangered premiership club, with our best players out, we need to eek out every point we can, and opening tight games up when most of this league has better attacking players than us is close to insanity.

Nice little re-tweet there Keveh
With Euro 2012 coming up it's also important to note we haven't lost an international match with Fabrice in the side, or even conceded...
