If they're crap at shooting and continually waste good attacking positions with speculative efforts that either go high and wide or lack any power, then yes. Taking shots for the sake of it just wastes possession, something we couldn't afford to do last season. If he could learn when to shoot and when to pass, then he'd go up in my estimations.
More assists in the Prem for us than anyone else too

Maybe that says something about the rest of that shower last season. Could have had plenty more assists if he had used the ball more intelligently.

No doubt he could.

Does that mean that Lee did a bit crap to only get the same amount of assists in the 2010/11 season? :conf:

Well if he'd scored 15 hat tricks, he might have been better than Messi...But he didn't and he isn't. Still one of our better players last season.

9 assists in the Prem is the highest total we have recorded on the Official Site in 10 years...

And I said in my original post on the subject, that said as much about the others as it did him.

Lee's all round game is much better, certainly his teamwork. Statistics don't tell the whole story.

It's very true they don't, but if Lee doesn't have goals or assists over the often derided Eagles then perhaps he's just not quite as good as the hype suggests.

I think we'll see what Eagles is made of this season, plus the fact he's willing to run with the ball when so many last season weren't, shouldn't be maligned

I suspect that he won't play if Lee is still here.

He'll be a sub/impact player and I really can't see Lee going before January, if that is that we're not in the promotion frame. Coyle has said that he doesn't need to sell any players
Pfffft.

We've not had an `impact` player since Michael Ricketts.
