Unfair Fixture Timing

Post by Spartan2 » Sat Mar 31, 2012 9:05 pm

According to http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matc ... tches.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; we play Fulham on the 7th then Newcastle on the 9th giving us one day rest. Blackburn get 2 days and QPR get three. Neither us nor Newcastle play again till the 21st We could easily play 7th,14th,21st This is Madness!

It's Easter, it always happens, Get used to it. It works our ways sometimes.

WE should have played Spurs on 14th, called of for Semi Final.

It doesn't matter, we'll lose to Newcastle no matter how many days rest we have.

Besides Newcastle have the same amount of rest we do.

Athletic Bilbao played on Thursday night in the Europa League and then again tonight, 47 hours later. At Barcelona.

I never understand this arguement, if it happened all the time fair enough, but once in a while isn't bad.

They are professional athletes at the end of the day.

Newcastle away is usually a write-off anyway

I'm sure they're professional athletes at the start of the day too. :P

I've no doubt they can play the match, almost all footballers could play every single day for months on end, the problem is, it affects performance. The players will only be able to give 90-95% and it's that fine margin that makes a big difference.

And what i'm annoyed about is it's completely unnessesary.

Doesn't really give us as much time as usual to prepare

Newcastle get an extra days rest as they play on the Friday, against Swansea, whereas we play Fulham on the Saturday. Thats probably the only thing I think genuinely we can complain about!

I'm fairly sure they won't let them rest, they'll be in training on the Sunday preparing for the game

Let's just get on with it, if we beat Newcastle then the pressure will mount on Blackburn and QPR to get a result.

We're not going to beat Newcastle. Their attackers are too damn good!

The idea is that it's Easter and every fan can get to see a home game. It's not a conspiracy.

Could work to our advantage as well, say we got points from both games or a win against one of them, it applies massive pressure on other teams around us, we do need points from one of these games
