Reserves v Norwich

Post by Riviman » Tue Apr 10, 2012 10:03 pm

Won 2-1
Team:
Wanderers: Fielding (Campbell 68), Battersby, Kellett, McQuade, Eckersley, Blakeman, Lester, Connolly, Odelusi, Fazlic (Iliev 72), Caton (Maher 46) (Unused substitutes: Irwin, Threlkeld)

BWFC report:

http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/ReserveNews/ ... 38,00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Injury time winner from McQuade, heading home a free kick. Odelusi scored in the first half. Stand out player for me - Young fullback Andy Kellett.

A very young reserve side, mainly academy players as the regular reserves must be sunning themselves abroad with the first team !!

As usual the standard of refereeing was poor, but anyone who watches reserve games will be used to that.

Left. He's a little 'un but a good 'un by all accounts.

Spot on, very quick, skilful, and not afraid to get stuck in. Another promising youngster.

From BWFC Profile page:
Name: Andy Kellett
DOB: 10/11/1993

Kellett's progress for the under-18 side was been so significant that he has now established himself as the first choice left-back for the reserve side.

A diminutive figure, Kellett excels when in possession of the ball and is more than capable of skipping around tackles in tight areas of the pitch.

Held in high regard by the Wanderers coaching staff, the youngster is certainly one to watch for the future.

Dunno, thought it was hailed as a Bolton Yoof masterstroke...

But then again, there's a report from everyone's favourite Mirror journo last July saying Blackburn were trying to sign him from Atletico, so I guess maybe we didn't...

I just want a LB that can bloody defend, first and foremost. Leave the upfield galavanting to Petrov.
