Ricardo Gardner: Testimonial?

As we bid goodbye to our beloved Jamaican I think it would only be fitting for us to pay tribute to Ricardo Gardner for his services at the club.

But yet we're yet to hear anything of the sort and despite it being 3 years of discussions around this matter it would be nice to see him at least given a send off that 14 years of service deserves.

Anyone any the wiser as to when/if this will happen?

If he was going to get a testimonial then I'd have thought it would have already happened, personally. Big shame as fourteen years service is incredible, especially from a foreign player. Staggering to think that he was signed by Colin Todd and the number of players who have retired since etc.

A testimonial for recognition & celebration would be good, but hopefully not for money. Christ, as this level that can't be required. What was last season ... & the one before really ?

Also, unless reports are wrong, he was offerd a new contract but declined.

He certainly deserves a testimonial game and I suspect, like most of the modern day football high earners, he would donate the monies to various charities just as Jussi did.

I hope he gets a testimonial. One of my favourite memories of him is from about 9 or 10 years ago, he hit a free kick against Newcastle, a stunning left foot curler into the top corner. Belting goal

Great , clever player on his day and one of the best left backs we've had in his hey day. Oh for a young Ricky now.
