He is not “off” just yet, this move is more likely to crystalise interest from elsewhere if there was any to begin with

Re: mark davies off to swansea
I'll repost what I put in the transfer topic
" If i was Owen i'd say £15million, then its either going to send them away for not wanting to over pay or they're going to give us £15million in which we can go off and get someone else who can do a similar job"

Re: mark davies off to swansea
Well, they're expecting to sell Joe Allen to Lerpool aren't they ? So this will be them looking to replace him. He's got 2 (or is it 3) seasons on his contract & we don't NEED to sell, so show us £12m & we may be talking Jacko's.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Thank God Megsons gone. We'd be doing a straight swap deal with Ferre Bodde

I'd honestly be surprised if he goes anywhere, especially Swansea.

Bodde was released at the end of last season and is a free agent.Harry Genshaw wrote:Thank God Megsons gone. We'd be doing a straight swap deal with Ferre Bodde

Re: mark davies off to swansea
We don't need to sell, so unless we get a good offer, he won't be going anywhere. There's also a good chance that this time next year, we'll be in a higher division than Swansea, so maybe Davies wouldn't even want to go.

What's a good offer? 5 million? Or a sizeable chunk of whatever they fetch for Allen?
I'd take both!!
I'd take both!!

Between 12 - 15 million for me is the only thing we should be looking at, he's our best player and easily the only creative player we have at the moment, 5 million won't get us a decent replacement who can do the same job as himboltonboris wrote:What's a good offer? 5 million? Said all along, the club will accept anything from £4.5m upwards.

If he goes we'll owe Wolves a chunk of it so we'll need to nett £8m at least to give us a chance of buying a decent replacement or maybe Coyle would bank on Vela being the under-study while Holden recovers

The most over-reactionary thread title I've ever seen. He's not "off" anywhere, we've received a bid, that's it.
Re: mark davies off to swansea
I'd sell him
Coyle hasn't got a fcuking clue how to use him
Sell Davies...buy Wade Elliot
What a plan

Let's no overreact shall we...
let's look at this though
BWFC - no money
BWFC - relegated
Mark Davies - not a Bolton lad
BWFC - 'taken a bid for the lad'
he's on his way for me.
Not even overly-arsed either. Overrated & a heart the size of a pea. Vela will do better this season imo.

Agree.Salford Trotter wrote:If he goes we'll owe Wolves a chunk of it so we'll need to nett £8m at least to give us a chance of buying a decent replacement or maybe Coyle would bank on Vela being the under-study while Holden recovers
And yeah, he aint a 442 player. If we must play 442 he is a luxury and I wouldnt object to selling him. It would be a shame in.a way cos he's got potential...but he needs a team building round him,.not being shoehorned into a system that doesn't suit.
Re: mark davies off to swansea
And worse than all that, we'd need a new player to signify "Promising".
Djorkaeff ... Djorkaeff must score ... he does ... HE DOES !!!

It's all over Twitter now. Still not sure if this is true though...
