Re: Morecambe Pre Season
5 of us going. Pies are good. Ended up at Morecambe-Crewe a couple of years ago when the ground first opened and missed three of the four goals - one having a slash, one on the pie run and one checking other scores on my phone. Had to stay up til daft o'clock to see the goals on the Football League Show.

Goal! Bolton lead! Ngog feeds Eagles on the right, who jinks infield before stabbing into the far corner. (3) 1-0

Alonso played a cute ball behind his marker to release Wylde, who pulled the ball back from the byline for Ngog to smash home. (13) 2-0

Re: Morecambe Pre Season
I bagged another new groud, so I'm glad I went. Saw a victory, so that was nice, in a low key kind of way. Eagles played well. Andrews looked like he could do a decent job keeping the ball moving in the holding position. Kevin Davies looked a spent force against a League 2 side. Alonso looked good going forward and a liability in defence. Our defending from corner kicks was dreadful - the post and off the line kick saved us.

Re: Morecambe Pre Season
A little harsh on Alonso though, I thought he was our best player in the second half.
Andrews had a quiet if controlling game and always looked to have time on the ball which is usually a good sign. Eagles looked dangerous and, despite the stick he got (again), I thought Pratley had a good game with several intelligent runs, kept possession well and came up with a cracking little backheel to set up a good chance for Eagles.
A little odd in that we seemed pretty comfortable at the back yet could have been 3-2 down at the break after Morecambe hit the woodwork twice and brought a cracking save one-on-one from Bogdan.
Reckon we're seriously lacking in firepower though and I don't see N'Gog doing much as a lone striker.

Re: Morecambe Pre Season
Agreed with Leyther Matt i'm not sure where the criticism for Alonso is coming from, wasn't his biggest fan last season but at the start of pre season he seems alot more sharp and has seemed to come back in decent shape. Even big Zat looked good today, although against a number 10 half his height it may have been hard not to. On the rest of the defence Riley looked good, Mills looked steady and Ream was ok. Got turned once or twice in first half but managed to recover with his pace. Hard to be too critical though as it's still very, very early on.
Ngog, Eagles and Wylde were stand out players for me, great attacking trio and would love to see what a 4-4-1-1 would look like with Ngog at the head, Eagles just behind and Wylde/Lee on either side. If Owen gets his holding midfield, Lee/Holden prove to be even half the players they were and with Sordell in the mix it could lead to some very interesting, and pretty exciting, selection problems.
