Crawley Town / Wanderers Match Thread
I've got nothing better to do tonight other start the match thread for this (unless you're bwfcdan94 in which case keep posting in the old burnley topic thread).
I presume this will be a weakened team rather than a weekend team, something like
Lonergan
Riley Ream Mills? Alonso
? Vela Pratley Wylde/Petrov
Afobe Sordell
Couldn't think who would be right-sided midfielder other than one of the regulars (I've got shit for brains, me). What happened to two bodies for each position? O'Halloran seemed to get shoved out there for the Crewe game but I don't think Coyle would do that in a competitive game. I guess Riley could be pushed up to midfield to give Mears another run out.

I did consider that - couldn't recall if Petrov had been stuck out on the right before now (assuming Coyle would want to start a relatively green Wylde on the left).Prufrock wrote:Or Wylde AND Petrov?

Re: Crawley Town / Wanderers Match Thread
Hope there aren't too many changes. I'd like us to progress in the cups. 2 or 3 changes would make sense but if it's an Allardyce-esque 9 or 10 then it will be an early exit I'm afraid.
For me;
Lonergan
Mears Ream Mills Alonso
CYL Pratley Andrews M Davies Wylde
Sordell

Are Arsenal letting us play their boy in the cups, do we know?

Good question Bruce. Have Arsenal got right of recall? If not they might as well let him play in the cups - and I'd expect him to score, perhaps rescuing us from a poor performance...
Think Harry's right as well - Coyle will want to progress so it might just be a few rested, the first names on the sheet (Knight, KD, Andrews, prob Mavies) and those for whom there's direct competition (Lonners for Boggers, Riley for Mears, the wingers). Time to prove this squad's as good as some say!

I think you're right about the 1 for 1 swaps DSB as I spoke with a one of the squad tonight and it looks like he won't be travelling so I expect a reasonably strong team to start.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Good question Bruce. Ticket safely in hand for tonight! Unless I can get out of work early then my aim is to get the train from either London Bridge or Victoria to Crawley at about 20 past/half past, get into crawley for about 19.10, leaving time for a scoop or two.
COYWM, etc.

Here's the rule:
6.2 Each Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Cup Competition matches, unless some satisfactory reason is given. The Board will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Management Committee shall have power to impose such penalties as they shall think fit. The provisions governing disciplinary matters in relation to the Competition are contained in Rule 23.

Re: Crawley Town / Wanderers Match Thread
No sign of my ticket on the door mat yet. Will have to nip home at lunch. Failing that, it'll be queuing at the ticket office - which I think is going to be a pain, as loads of fans won't have received their tickets if they only put them on open sale on Friday (of a bank holiday w/end). Fools!
Did we come to a consensus on a pre-game meet? I want to go to the ground pretty sharpish to pick up my mate's ticket (and likely mine), so the 'Redz' bar at the ground will be most likely for me. Unless there's another plan...

Travelling down from London after work so it might be a swift one, then on to the terrace!

Ticket arrived. Rushing through work for early leave. PM me if you wanna meet up.
Meantime, here's a game that we can all play: given yon rule, which five players do you rest/rotate?
