Are they any good? Go on!
I have no idea, but presumably Dougie thinks they are hence him signing them.

And my point was 3 players for under a million, shows you can work on a tight budget and still bring players in. We shall see how good they are. If this Kamara guy is even half as good as we are led to believe by Dougie and earlier media reports then it sounds a steal, no?
Been chasing him for 2 years apparently.

looks like Dougie agreed with them though... he didn't sell Alonso for some quick cash now...

Stoke only offered £200k though apparently. Short of the 600K asking price.

I'm also curious although not quite as aggressively as Bruce here.
Obviously Freedman's a cut price cure for cancer, no, a veritable panacea according to BOLX_Insane.

indeed - but your argument was that we should get any cash we could now as otherwise he'd be on a free and he isn't really worth anything much to us now anyway..... Dougie disagrees, it seems... he'd rather take the £200,000 (plus wages - as you pointed out) cash hit and hold onto Alonso as a player (which is what Smoking suggested we should do.) Smokin' is the one on Dougie's wavelength here...

For those who ask, it's Medo with "e" pronounced like "e" in 'bed", or in the name Ted. Hope that'll do :D

Or as in meds. Let's just hope he's what the doctor ordered.

According to Wikipedia (I know...) squad numbers for new boys are:
6 Cian Bolger
15 Craig Dawson (loan)
28 Craig Davies
29 Jan Gregus (loan, initially)
36 Mohamed Kamara
tbc Steve De Ridder (loan)

Not a bad bunch of signings, all told. Midfield destroyer, striker, promising centre-back - plus loaned centre-back, winger and one-for-the-future midfielder. I do wonder if it was all for the price of a Petrov; if so, good business IMO.

Good luck to all of 'em.

Wonder if he'll debut any of them at Watford?

There was also the great signing of Upson by Brighton. Should be three points then...

No, I suggested you couldn't get an adequate replacement for Alonso for £500k. Freedman could have signed 30 players for £5,000 each but they aren't going to be an adequate replacement for anyone in our squad. In this transfer window, we've seen another pre-prime wingback go for £3m, and he's far less proven than Alonso is. Are you honestly telling me there are players out there who could have adequately replaced Alonso for £500k? Come off it.

Worth the money keeping Davo just for the home game

Happy with that window, looks promising. Kamara looks a cracking deal. Shame there aren't enough games left to make a bid for this season.

5 new players, kept all our current gang (I was expecting Alonso to exit &, really, Lee as well maybe). A surprise contract extension for Mavies and the return, or imminant return, of Holden, Vela, Mills, Wheater. Finally trying to use Sordell and the exit of Afobe.

Not a bad window, not to shabby at all. Well done Worthy.

I expect some loan exits in the next week as well.

If we can string 5 wins on the bounce you'll be surprised how close to the play-offs spots we'll be. It's a long shot I know but still possible, call it blind faith but we have enough players coming back from injury coupled with the new recuits we might still have a say in the end of season shake-up

DF's statement, don't know from where sportal.rs got it.

"I know about Kamara for a long time. My good friend and former Palace team mate Aki Riihilahti has played with him in Finland. I didn't believe I'd have a chance to coach him one day. He left Finland for Partizan and advanced as a footballer in that period. His arrival is a great boost for the club. Medo has a heart of the lion, great willingness and is brilliantly focused on what is expected from him. I'm looking forward to work with him."
