There's a few folk suggesting Micky Mellon. Haven't Fleetwood been bankrolled? I mean, Mellon may be an excellent manager *as well* but he's certainly had a sizeable budget to work with.
Bankrolled would be a sizeable understatement.
Yes they have..Have,nt we???However you still need to spend wisely..They sold aplayer in the summer for a Million....They,ve spent money improving the ground...Not a great deal on players.

There were quite a lot of "other" and "Frank Spencer" on the first one. ;-)
And are we rejecting those two now?

Not that I voted for him, but I notice that Di Canio has dropped like a stone in 'our' popularity - that might be because we've been reminded (or found out for the first time) that he's a Fascist.

Exactly, well done for getting us back on track, LGM.

Di Canio likes the romance of the dream that is Rome, that's all. This is what I'm saying - we need a man with big dreams!

Say what you want about Di Canio but he doesn't like jews, blacks, gypsies....hold on a tic...did he make the trains run on time...? Was that it...?

I can imagine it now. How long before the 'Nazi Salute' was seen as a 'bit of fun' by our duckeggs?

Here's a name to put a shiver down your spine

Steve McLaren.

Why not get on the phone to Pep? If Pele was 'this' close to taking the job surely Mr Guardiola would jump at the chance.

What a can of worms this has opened.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

He'd command the respect of the players, he'd be straight-talking with the fans, he'd demand fitness and commitment and his reputation might help us in the transfer market. I'd expect he has high standards and learned a thing or two from Red Nose over the years.

either that or an ace german!
The American system is just too different. With the MLS salary cap and the byzantine rules that come with it, the most successful managers in the league are sometimes the one who can most effectively work the system, rather than the most tactically astute. Bruce Arena's skill in this regard just wouldn't translate.

In relative terms, they had wage budgets (far more influential than transfer budgets in non-league) that were comparable with sides a couple of divisions above them - we're talking thousands of quid a week even in the UniBond.
