Re-Shaping The Team
Dougie Freedman wants to re-shape the team because it's unbalanced. How many times has this been said under OC.

Whats the point loaning Sordell out? Sell the feck* in jan...write it off as a coyle feck* if he cant cut it up north. He'll be 1/3 of a contract done?

What are the chances we sell CYL?

Re: Re-Shaping The Team
He has to feel a little tiny bit like the Moo I think. He hasn't been properly used since the "rest" he was given by Coyle .... then the break he had ... followed by, again, not being fully or properly utilised.Hodori wrote:What are the chances we sell CYL?
Add that the the fact that he is one of our indisputably Premier-class players.
So, unless Freedman really makes him feel differently, why would he not want to exit. I do fear he'll leave in January.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

aye - mebbe so - but he has just signed a new contract - so we could demand a high fee...bobo the clown wrote:He has to feel a little tiny bit like the Moo I think. I can easily imagine that Freedman will want to cash in on CYL's potential Premiership-level pricing, sell, and buy two or three bargains (young, lower league) who he can mold into his team

I can't understand the outsourcing of Riley when we've still got that pillock Mears in the squad?!

Coz he played really well in the one game I've seen him play.

Unless CYL does something spectacular in the next couple of months, I very much doubt any premiership clubs would meet our asking price, seeing that he has yet to really prove that's he's the same player from before his leg break.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I can easily imagine that Freedman will want to cash in on CYL's potential Premiership-level pricing, sell, and buy two or three bargains (young, lower league) who he can mold into his team

Precisely, I doubt anyone would pay much more than 2 million quid for him as it stands.midlands exile wrote:Unless CYL does something spectacular in the next couple of months, I very much doubt any premiership clubs would meet our asking price, seeing that he has yet to really prove that's he's the same player from before his leg break.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I can easily imagine that Freedman will want to cash in on CYL's potential Premiership-level pricing, sell, and buy two or three bargains (young, lower league) who he can mold into his team

Re: Re-Shaping The Team
Sort of. That's why I said potential Prem-level pricing. Although I don't think he needs to perform spectacularly, just well enough, and I can then see the likes of Swansea/Reading/Villa/QPR/ANother* stumping up enough cash to enable Doogie to buy some of his by then scouted talent.midlands exile wrote:Unless CYL does something spectacular in the next couple of months, I very much doubt any premiership clubs would meet our asking price, seeing that he has yet to really prove that's he's the same player from before his leg break.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I can easily imagine that Freedman will want to cash in on CYL's potential Premiership-level pricing, sell, and buy two or three bargains (young, lower league) who he can mold into his team

It's not clear from that article what's gone on with Riley. DSB, any insight at Swindon?Spartan2 wrote:Dougie Freedman wants to re-shape the team because it's unbalanced. How many times has this been said under OC.

Just to be clear, when I said i'm loving "Paul" Di Canio, I meant the fact that the BEN Reporter called him "Paul" instead of Paulo, not that I like him as a person or anything.BWFC_Insane wrote:Paulo Di Canio is a complete and utter disgrace!

Re: Re-Shaping The Team
I guess we'd have more chance of decent bids coming in on the back of a good loan spell if he cant hack it up here. Also if he's hit a rut getting out of dodge for a couple of months might even give him chance to get his head together.officer_dibble wrote:Whats the point loaning Sordell out? Others like Riley you'd hope can go out on loan primarily so the club can monitor their progress at a more competitive level. Freedman cant watch all the squad in a first team context and I'm not sure what can really be learned outside of first team action. Swindon would have been ideal, higher end of league one. Just a shame they are managed by a headcase(didnt he win the survey for our next manager in the end

Loaning players out makes total sense in terms of coaching in that if you want focussed work on systems you want a smaller focussed group to work with. Doesnt do players good to be on the periphery either.
