“But we are still a couple months away from seeing Stuart, let’s not kid ourselves, but we are looking forward to that.”
Marc Iles yet again jumping the gun on a story.

He's not the only one to jump the gun with regards a return, though

Surely Iles simply tweeted it from the press conference* which was later written up by the Official site.

No it's not. You don't offer somebody a contract when their leg is practically hanging off. If we get him fit, we'll extend. No problem.Martin_Cruise wrote:He is out of contract in the summer.Off to the PL on a free if he recovers.Another cock up.

Is he a nicer bloke than Cahill or something because Cahill wouldn't sign another contract when it had been allowed to run down and had to be sold on the cheap half way through a relegation season.boltonboris wrote:No it's not. Does one really need to be Einstein to know that successful football clubs keep their best players on long term contracts to make sure they get a suitable fee?

We're not a successful football club.

hmmm..... I can well imagine the reaction of Bolton fans had we offered Holden a new 5yr contract when he broke his leg - especially at the point that he made a brief return and then they discovered more extensive damage...Martin_Cruise wrote:Does one really need to be Einstein to know that successful football clubs keep their best players on long term contracts to make sure they get a suitable fee?

if he walked out on a free after being fit again for a month, id break his other leg! the giddy yank nice person
Re: Holden back in full training
I reckon Stu would sign an extension, thoroughly nice guy who loves the club and would probably want to give something back after that kind of injury. anyone else remember him sitting with our travelling fans last season?

Re: Holden back in full training
I'd hope he would stay after all the wages and medical expenses he's cost the club. but nothings a definate, that said, who would take him on a contract with a crocked knee, he would need to be proven again, as theres nothing saying it won't happen again. The other thing to consider is Coyle brought him to the club, Dougie may have a different opinion of him and he may not fit in his plans ? also, Stu may not want to play for Dougie, one last thing "Hes not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy"
PS we should send his wage bill and re-hab to Man U !

Only a fool wouldn't want to have a player of Holden's quality at this level.
Freedman doesn't strike me as a fool.
