Its a bit of an inflammatory headline. Which isn't surprising for super-duper-everyones-just-going-to-explode-in-the-wankalongathon Sky.

I see it as a manager doing his duty to sort out the assets he has at his disposal.

Indeed. Massive over the top headline!

Does seem a bit sad that it can even be a problem at all, but I suppose that is the world we live in now. Says the man with 11,000 posts agreeing with the Lord with 16,000.

Dougie Freedman is 38.

I was just thinking that too!

I did it today when I saw a girl walk past in a onesie (is that how you spell it?). I realised I hadn't just turned into my dad, but my grandad, as I was transported back to his open mouthed exclamation of "what the bloody hells that all about" (say it in a slightly high-pitched, broad Botonian for full affect) when he saw a girl with a huge mohican and nose piercings in the eighties. It comes to us all in the end...

Just trying to think of any job I've had where having an addiction that stopped me doing it well could have got me paid, or not sacked. I'm sure I'll think of one soon....

though... to be fair to Sordell, Freedman does say:

"He's never had a problem on the field. He works very hard at training, he's fit, and against Premier League opposition I thought he did reasonably well."

If the lad is homesick then he is obviously using social media to keep in constant contact with friends from down south and is subsequently coming in contact with people who want to give him grief.

He chooses to keep his account public. The "haters" affirm for the minor celebrity his or her importance. They love it, even if they aren't aware that they do.

We're seeing "Glimmers of hope"??? From a bloke who's on 20 to 25 grand a week??!!! That's nowt short of appalling, but sadly we've become inured to half wit footballers being mollycoddled.

That statement is pretty damning in faint praise though.

He's hardly going to come out and directly say he's a useless lazy lump.

You'd think so, but he doesn't post to mates, he just posts to his girlfriend who's the one sat next to him in the same room, and posts to Bolton fans! He also types like he's never been to school, which isn't surprising.

True but then again David James had a video game addiction in the late 90s, so it wouldn't surprise me if there is some truth in there. Hopefully Freedman can sort it.

Addiction is usually thought of as drink or drugs or gambling.
And as those who work in that area know- it can descend on anybody - however enviable their life may look.
But it can also come in other forms -As with the David James case. Different people have different demons.
It can be very destructive - and it is a problem and it does need help.

Probably better dealt with in private - but at least Freedman is tackling it.
What goes around may still come around

Yeah, but you weren't an £8m pound asset (that one's for Boris).

Truth be told, it's years since kids were sent up chimneys. Current employment law requires employers to consider their employees welfare.

Of course that isn't to suggest the legislation is correct, much better the sick should be told to f*ck off.

The problem is we have a £3m 'assett' with £20k a week running costs which is barely performing ... & showing signs of eratic behaviours ... whether this is a human being or a machine in a factory you'd want to get to the bottom of this.

Maybe never fit for purpose or damaged by our own missuse and lack of care but it warrants looking into and correcting or otherwise moving on, if an alternative owner is interested.

Cptn. Chaos certainly didn't waste too much time looking after his January 2012 purchases did he !?

To think, for the combined money of Ream & Sordell we could have got Zaha comfortably. Now that would have been a career to fck up.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Do people ACTUALLY think he has an addiction? Or that he's had his phone confiscated?! FFS it's just extremely poor reporting.
