Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Return of the Wheats!
Fair amount of snow forecast, so the Met Office may yet spoil the fun.

Re: Return of the Wheats!
Is it slowly coming together?
With Holden, Chungy, M Davies, Vela, Wheater on the mend are we finally looking at what we'd consider a full strength team?
Is the dawn of a brave new world? Can we string some results together now and make a push for the play-offs and FA Cup glory?
Nah, I don't think so either but it'd be nice wunnit?

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

On recoveries, according to Dougie Chungy's still not fully recovered and two games a week is beyond him. Apparently, the screws in his knee are still a worry. I'm glad he's on the way back as our defence is powder puff and we could do with a bit more force...
But perhaps I'm just imagining it.. Wasn't Wheater in for a lot of criticism about being a bit clumsy and generally a bit shit?

But that was when he was playing for us. Since then, while he's NOT been playing he's exactly what we are missing apparently.
It'll all revert again once he's back.

He was initially though I think he won most over towards the end of last season. I think he is probably more suited to this division than the others we have in some ways.boltonboris wrote:I'm glad he's on the way back as our defence is powder puff and we could do with a bit more force...

He's got some guts Bobo, he'll have a go and he's far better in the box on corners and set pieces than Knight or Ream.bobo the clown wrote:... & slow & turning circle of a planet.boltonboris wrote:I'm glad he's on the way back as our defence is powder puff and we could do with a bit more force...

It has attracted comment before, but Knight's role at offensive corners and free kicks is so weird.TANGODANCER wrote:He's got some guts Bobo, he'll have a go and he's far better in the box on corners and set pieces than Knight or Ream.bobo the clown wrote:... & slow & turning circle of a planet.boltonboris wrote:I'm glad he's on the way back as our defence is powder puff and we could do with a bit more force...

Why does a bloke his height just loiter limply at the back post rather than trying to make a run from the edge of the box and compete in the air with some momentum?

Re: Return of the Wheats!
Not just momentum, but chaos in the opposition. Even if he's crap in the air, defences will automatically react to him lumbering with intent.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:It has attracted comment before, but Knight's role at offensive corners and free kicks is so weird. Re: Return of the Wheats!
Aye. Get him running to the front post. Unless your actually aiming it at him to head back across goal from the back he should be in there dragging defenders with him.

Re: Return of the Wheats!
A puzzle. Nearly all the headed goals against us come from somebody coming in at speed into the box. We seem to just try out-jumping the opposition from a flat-footed stance whether defending or attacking. Mind you, that's when our corners get beyond the first man.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:
