I laughed that somebody could be as sad as to set up such an obviously fake account

Dougie reasoning behind Beckford.

Also radio Manchester tweeted this morning that Freedman has 'not ruled out a move for Rhodes', whatever that means.

But less than Elmander. Strangely.

Hope we got a fee !!

Anyway, good luck Sam and thanks. I thought he was, at the very least, a decent player and we certainly missed him when he was injured a couple of seasons ago. Flexible and a far better centre half than he had a right to be.

I hope you shine like a shaft of old-gold while all around you flounder.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

His contract has been cancelled by mutual consent. Therefore we don't get a fee.

Which is more beneficial, I'd imagine. Because if Wolves paid us the £400,000 for the fee, we'd still owe Ricketts the other £600,00 of his contract.

Ah, very good point.

Another player being linked to a move away from Anfield is youth product, Jay Spearing. After returning from Bolton this summer after a season long loan spell, the player has apparently been told by Rodgers that he does not feature in the future plans of Liverpool. The price tag being slapped on Spearing by the Reds is approximately £3 million. Numerous reports indicate that Spearing’s availability is being tracked by Premier League newcomers, Hull City. It is also rumored that Bolton are ready to take back Spearing, but only on a season long loan, something that Liverpool are not comfortable with.

Blackburn are also showing an interest this morning according to the Mirror.

£3m for Spearing is too much for a player who has played just one full season, could he grow into an excellent player or will he just tail off as the good player he was for us last season? £3m would be a big gamble, I would be surprised if we made a bid for him at that price.

Yet, given the money available at Premier level this season it'd be well worth a gamble to any of the mid/lower level clubs in that league.

At todays prices £3m is not considered a big fee , ridiculous I know but that's how it is.

£3m isn't a lot considering we paid £4m for Sordell, though it is too much when you think about a player like Michu going for £2m. I wish we had a broader scouting network. For a team with a limited budget, it should be essential.

Except we didn't. The Mail reported that fee as the headline, but most other outlets put it at more like £3m. Presumably there were financial add-ons in the event he scored X goals, got us promoted, got a full England cap etc. And those things haven't happened (unless the X represents 8 or fewer).

Andre Moritz has left Palace today after refusing to resign because they wont guarantee him a starting place. Put your house on Dougie signing him. Mark Davies type player so will do be snapped up no doubt.

We really need some creativity in midfield, with Davis out until at least Jan we will have to look for a replacement. No good having all these strikers if we are not creating anything!! Moritz played well for Palace in this league, so would be a good buy.

Eagles will be our creative outlet. Is he better than Eagles?

Not seen him on a regular basis, however, as we saw last season Eagles is not the most consistent player, therefore, we will need a back up at some point and this fella may be a good cheap option?
