Would you rather......
Fail to make the play-offs or get to Wembley and lose narrowly?
Was asked this the other day, couldn't make my mind up.
Clearly the answer is go and win the fecking thing. But if that WAS the choice, what would it be?

good point! I heard someone saying that Cardiff now have a month's head start on their promotion rivals and premiership strugglers...CAPSLOCK wrote:Fail

Had we not been at Wembley for the Stoke abomination I'd have definitely agreed with Bish and said, lets get to Wembley for a day out and a bit of confidence.
Losing at Wembley though would a) be a shitter and put a downer on the summer (I've rarely felt as bad as I did after Watford beat us there 2-0) and b) could leave a hangover for the next season similar to that of last season after relegation.
So yeah I think I'd probably rather miss out get the heartache over with early rather than come so close only for hearts to be broken at the very last minute.
In this limited scenario of course.

True, however players and their agents would be holding out to see who else is in the market to get the best deals. QPR will throw shedloads around in the Championship.

Get to Wembley.....
Only reason is I would get to miss out on a Bank Holiday trip to the Trafford Centre.....

No, I was cursing him for the opposite, for taking us to the brink and bringing success that meant I suddenly was very tense.......thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Had we not been at Wembley for the Stoke abomination I'd have definitely agreed with Bish and said, lets get to Wembley for a day out and a bit of confidence.

Live the dream. Get there and win promotion, that's what we've been trying to do for a fair while surely. Why give up now? Better to have tried and failed than never tried at all.

Fail. Saves me £250 (I must do it cheeper than Caps) and its a long way back home when you've got nowt.
Re: Would you rather......
Get there. Any playoff action is a bonus after our start.
A heroic failure at Wembley wouldn't be the end of the world. Not like the tranmere defeat after which a I was gutted for a month. I was a moody 15 yr old adolescent then though.

If I knew for definite that we couldn't get promoted. I'd rather get a positive 4 points at the end of the season, but be pipped to the post by Leicester than lose in the play offs.
Take some positivity into next season and save us all a lot of money and bad publicity when we only take 20,000 to Wembley

I'd rather not make the play offs than make them and lose the final I think. Of course, if it were an option I'd rather just win the final.

Re: Would you rather......
Wembley trip, every time.
I really enjoyed the day of the Stoke game, right up to the point we were 3-0 down. Yes it was a miserable result and performance, but if you could bottle what it feels like to wake up on a Wembley final day and your team's involved, you'd make a fortune.
No brainer.

I'd rather go to Wembley, I think.
If we get there, we'll have to be prepared to fail anyway so I'd happily try
