100 Great Wanderers Memories.

Post by coffeymagic » Fri Aug 30, 2013 10:55 am

I started a thread on another BWFC Forum about some of my favourite memories from watching Bolton.

It's like a Peter Kay concert where he just talks about the Wanderers.

It's pretty much just been me so far but if you want to chip in then please feel free to.

The only stipulation is that it must be YOUR memories, none of this 'Number 1 - Bolton were the first team to use nets'.

Two - No jumping in with 'White Hot i, ii, iii). or Frankie Worthy's goal v Ipswich. I'm not trying to fill it from 1-100, I'm trying to work up (or is it down?) to the 'big' ones so take it easy eh?

So if you've got a good memory about your time as a Superwhite pop over to http://www.bwfcchat.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and leave them there.

They're not in any order really, just picked random numbers. I may re-order them and type them up properly and perhaps one day print them all out in a glossy book that you'll be able to buy.

That'd be a great stocking filler wunt it?

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

It's already in there.

Mystical Michael nominated that but he didn't put a number to it. You must give your memory a number then it can go on the charts.

Eeeh, I'm a nugget!

BWFC CHAT - FOOTBALL CHAT- and then 100 Memories...

But would you like a price on a new kitchen while you're here?

OK Tone, I've clicked the link and it shows me a front-page and invites me to register. I don't fancy registering .... so what now ?

Me either. Can we put 'em on here and you register them?

If so...... Gardner's equaliser at Bayern
Kevin Davies likewise
Vaz Te's equaliser at Guimaraes
Brannigan's penalty save v. Reading at Wembley (I'd just put my coat on to leave.)

Signing of Djorkaeff
Djorkaeff vs Charlton
Okocha vs West Ham
Signing of Anelka

That'll do for now.

I don't know why it's asking you to register before viewing. I think you really need to see the thread before coming up with your memories. i was looking for a bit more than 'Youri Signs for Bolton'. You need to show your workings out young Gary!

Perhaps someone can help with providing a link that would take you straight through to the right page so you can have a shufty.

Or maybe just delete this thread and forget it ever existed?

Either way I think it's a fairly good idea.

Passes a bit of time.

If you don't want to sign up here but want to fill in the blanks on this page I'll cuttenpaste them over.

It was the beating of Liverpool that pleased me (sung in my head to the Dubliners tune). In fact it was the most recent highlight from a number of increasingly desperate seasons, and as such is a beacon of happiness resident in my brain. I'll stick it in at number (randomly generated) 67

Gavin Mccann's winner at Boro.
Any of our prem wins against Utd
That 2-2 draw with Leicester and Ricketts last minute equaliser.
''Amazing! Out of nothing Bolton are level. A quick throw, Kevin Nolan keeps play alive in the box and finds Kevin Davies on the left who lashes a shot under Oliver Kahn.''

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Surely Coyle's far post header from a Supa John cross, and then Fabian's precision equaliser from an inch perfect Tomo pass with what seemed like seconds left on the clock are both top ten? Still make the hairs syand up just remembering them to type. And Ju darby's goal against Stoke the last but one game when we went above Port Vale for the first time? Surely to goodness.

They're in there. You need to read the thread to get the meat on the bones.

One of them is Dioufy's equaliser against Plovdiv. When I got home last night I watched it on the youtubes.

See Nicky Hunt's cross? What an absolute peach that was, Dioufy's finish was fantastic.

What a goal.

But like I say the thread isn't just about 'The come back against Reading' or 'Mixu's blaster against Swindon'.

Read the thread AND STOP JUST SAYING STUFF!

Or am I being wound up here?

Who'd believe Ricky Gardner, our left back, scored that one from the right wing?

It was a mahoosive miskick. Proper standing-foot-only swing. Went in off the post, and I nearly shattered glass screaming in my living room.
