Freedman out!

Sorry he just ain't good enough or strong enough to sort out the deep problems that plainly exist in the club, people thought it was SKD but clearly it wasn't, I'd start with Knight.

I don't want this to turn into another 'not playing Muamba' thing (that is, playing Knight and/or Wheater together). Apart from their mistakes, we played the ball and held possession quite well. Too soon to call this a Dougie problem just yet imo.

Why?

The frustrating thing is that if you take out the individual errors from Wheater and Knight it would've been a good performance. If we get a good centre back in, all is not lost. I'd give Dougie till November/December personally so that if it isn't working out, any new manager can change the squad a bit in January. Our next 10 home games:

Leeds
Derby
Yeovil
Sheff Wed
Ipswich
Millwall
Huddersfield
Doncaster
Charlrton
Boro

We need at least 8 wins from that imo

Watford fans said the same last season, only seven points on the board by 23. Sept last year.

It can be turned around

Aye, that they did. It could go either way in the crazy world of the Championship.

At this stage CH, what would you do?

I'd stand by my man.
I think he's a clueless chancer but another sacking would be suicide for us.

Not the next Allardyce then?

Come on if you look at our fixtures, most teams wont get many points from those games. Watching the highlights of yesterday's game I was pleasantly surprised as we seemed very good going forward. It was ridiculous defensive mistakes that cost us. If he gets a good CB or two in we'll alright.

We cannot become a 2 managers a season club. That way is the road to ruin.

However, despite injuries, fixtures, finances whatever his tactics are not working ... either because they aren't any cop, or the players are incapable of adapting to them. I said on another thread that if he mistrusts his defence so much that he wants 3 holding midfielders then he has to deal withn the defence. That's the 2 centre half players. Why should they need such protection ?

The defensive nature of the midfield means nothing is being created. He also seems reluctant to use the more creative players ... Hall, raw maybe but fast, direct ... Moritz, surely match-fit by now.

It all revolves around Knight & Wheater not being up to, or up for it.

It's in Dougie's own hands and if he doesn't deal with them, then he will pay for it.

Can someone post what Derby and Forest fans said last season, don't think there's enough to go on with just two teams...

Wouldn't pull the trigger just yet. Cpt Clueless got 10 games last season...

What's the benchmark for the next 3 games (or is it 5 league games?)? I forget the points total we were on when he went.

We were on 10 or 11 - think 11 from 10 games...

So 9 from 5. 3 wins if he's not to be a massive disappointment. TBH, if he's only on that in 5 games, its looking pretty grim.

Merely matching Coyle's total last year won't mean this season's not a disappointment, although it would at least be a boon for those who feel the incessant need for comparison.

To not be a disappointment, we need to be in the top six.
