What was wrong with Bernard Mendy - next you will be telling me Anthony Barness was sh*t and all.

Mendy added much-needed pace but far too frequently did precisely the wrong thing. He's well remembered because we stayed up, and for that we should be thankful.

Barness is precisely the kind of player we need now. Like a calm McNaughton.

Theo Walcott went to a school called "the downs school" in Newbury. While we are on fast footballers Aaron Lennon's older brother was tipped to be the next Giggs while on the books of United until a car accident ruined his career.

I met Barness when I went to watch Lewis play a few years ago - he is a top bloke as you all should know and I had a good conversation with him. I told him I was a Bolton season ticket holder and asked him to come back and play for us (I think it was while we were managed by Coyle or Megson). He said he would call PG.

Fryatt is gash.

Certainly take BB's point that he's a regular in the beat side ( which makes it sound bollocks anyway). DF's success at Palace seemed to hinge on Bolasie and Zaha. Always struck me as odd that he hasn't seemed to go after that kind of player.

You couldn't possibly have attempted to compare two more contrasting right backs there, Danno.

Mendy went like shit off of a stick but lacked any end product and lacked intelligence. Now, if you think of the polar opposite of that - there you'll find Barness.

I think the conversation was sorta around whether Fryatt would be a better bet than Jukiewicz, which might not be an unreasonable one to have.

Whilst Zaha & Bolasie provided, and Jedinak held the mf, they did have the advantage of Glenn Murray popping the ball in the onion bag every other game.

Fryatt isn't that prolific, but seems to be rather more consistent than the other dude, even if it's another tallest dwarf conversation...

Mendy was utter wank at full back. He ended up being ok on the right wing simply because his pace allowed us to stretch teams.

Nowhere there does it say that WE received a fee.

Personally I suspect we may have had to pay them.
