Why didn't this go to number 1?

Kinnell!!

It comes in sounding like the soundtrack of Ben Hur and then that muppet starts singing with a faux American accent.

Truly dire. An artform.
God's country! God's county!
God's town! God's team!!
How can we fail?

COME ON YOU WHITES!!

Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are 3 weeks 09-03-1997
Gary Barlow - Love Wont Wait 1 week 04-05-1997
Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life 1 week 19-10-1997
Teletubbies - Teletubbies Say Eh Oh 2 weeks 07-12-1997

Plus Barbie Girl..

But the lady out of Aqua was pretty easy on the eye, so I'll let them off.

They used to play that when the players ran out didn't they?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Oh my god - Barbie Girl. If he couldn't beat Barbie Girl to the number one spot he never had a hope in hell.

I'd rather listen to the background music from the old Roadrunner videos.

Do remember "The Wanderer's Rap"?

Expertly performed by Tony Harrison.

We only ever heard the last couple of bars of that song too. Never really wanted to find out how it started. I imagine the line from Blackadder would some it up...

'It started badly, tailed off towards the middle and the less said about the end the better.'

As for 'Teletubbies Say Eh-Oh' I wish I could write a tune as 'bad' as that. I read somewhere that Toyah Wilcox earned more money from repeats of her saying 'The Sun is setting in the sky....' than she did from all her arsing about going 'Iths a mythtery'.

Good money in voice over work.

I used to do a bit of DJ'ing and TTSEO used to pack the dance floor for kids, students, weddings, the lot. Certified dance floor filler.

As for Lene Nystrom yes very pleasant on the eye. Little 'un likes watching their videos on V+ and who am I to stop her?

For those of you who think they're a sweet little innocent kiddy band have a listen to the lyrics of the one about the bumble bees. Pretty near the knuckle I can tell you.

In short you only need ONE hit and your set for life. Lene if you're out there you could have had a chance if you hadn't covered yourself with rubbish tattoo's that made it look like you'd let a five year old scrawl all over your body wth a magic marker.

Katy Perry and Darcey Bussell are my current favourites.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Sure, if you like women who got a nose job from the same blind surgeon who did Michael Jackson's.

I reckon 'er out of Aqua must have been one of my first celebrity crushes, and the first time I thought tattoos were cool.

Fun Fact - As a 9 year old I tried to join the Aqua fan-club. I failed, because I didn't understand the concept of stamps.

A conversation a few weeks later went something like...

MiniPru: Mum, I posted the paper from the sleeve of my new Aqua album saying I could join the Aqua fan-club, but haven't heard anything back.

MiniPru's M: Did you put a stamp on it?

MP: What's a stamp?

MP'sM: Jesus, you're a disappointment.

That it's going to lose its mind
