Chris Fairclough getting stuck into Steve Bull. Pollock and Sheridan manhandling the toothless Iwan Roberts. Gudni and Blakey charging in. Mark Venus and Dean Richards (RIP) pretending to get stuck in. Don't recognise the other 2 or 3 of theirs.

I think the little #2 was the very Jamie Smith that Gerry Taggart was just about to pick up and shake by his throat like a rag doll.Burnden Paddock wrote:Chris Fairclough getting stuck into Steve Bull. That picture used to be somewhere on line and is ... well ... a picture !!!

Far right of the picture.........
That's Mad Ged's hand, the hand that will, any second now, meet out justice to the Bullshit brigade. Happy days.

What on God's little green Earth can have had Slaven prefer Port Vale ... even back in those days ?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Yeah, those are right. The rest are dog heads. I think the guy leaning over McG may be Alex Rae. But I'm not as good at spotting other teams' old boys...
Meanwhile, under the original story linked to above, five of the first six comments have been removed for violating terms and conditions. Can you guess what they might have been?
And on the bottom gallery on that story, his career in pictures - on the first one, do I spy future BW signing Gary Parkinson and a certain Port Vale-preferring Bernie Slaven?

They were in an automatic spot, we were actually quite a few points behind (my memory serves at 10?0 but had a game in hand.
It must remembered that (again, as I recall it) the last 18 games of that season delivered 15 wins, 2 draws and a single loss. Please somebody verify these stats, I'm sure they're right.

Click on Table at the end of a row and it gives you after that day's fixtures
Don't think we were ever 10 points behind Vale

7 behind when we played at theirs in March. It seems the highest it got to was 8 (I haven't clicked every link)... but they too were going like a train, had more recently been in the higher division whilst we had come close with no cigar on a couple of recent occasions. I laughed at the time, but strangely, with hindsight, I can see exactly why he made the decsion he did. We only went above them after Hull or Stoke at home din't we, with 3/2 games still to play?

Stoke fans celebrating the goal just as much as we did. Julian Darby's bizarre goal celebration, resembling that of Michael Thomas after he scored the goal at Anfield that gave Arsenal the title in 1989. I was there when Arsenal won the league. Wonder if GG has ever been at a game where the Arse won the title?Lord Kangana wrote:http://www.boltonwanderers-mad.co.uk/sn ... ndex.shtml

Fair play to Julian for that goal. Hope every feck* who ever booed him felt thoroughly ashamed at that point.

I always liked Jamie. Remember watching us get beat of United while on holiday in Spain the commentator calling him 'Haimie'. None of this Clive Tyldsley nonsense where he says the names of players and clubs in the accents of the locals.
Yeah, Joolien Durbies roly-poly was funny.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

He's got some serious product on that hair in the clip. Not to mention the bling. At least our jamie just looks like a normal fat bloke, Nev looks like he's auditoning for a part in Carlito's Way.
