Davies and Vela

Post by Relentless09 » Wed Dec 04, 2013 3:39 pm

Wasn't really sure where to mention this so I thought I'd just create a thread.

Davies and Vela are back in action today in a closed doors game against Rochdale. It will be interesting to see how they get on and to see what sort of shape they are in.

Also where will Davies and Vela fit in Dougie's plans ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

They closed the doors when he was already there, effectively locking him in

They should use the actual doors as the goals.
Like, big vehicle access doors, give our strikers a chance of hitting the target.

We must be a massive club if the paparazzi are sneaking into 'behind the gates' games to get pictures.

I think they were trying to get the mystery sniper behind the grassy knoll above the J in John Harris.
Can't think of any other explanation.

I wish last nights entertaining spectacle would have been behind closed doors.

Did Vela's injury involve dislocation of his neck, btw ?

Did we win? Does it count?

Rochdale are a form team.

We lost didn't we?
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Davies lined up alongside Josh Vela in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Rochdale, 10 months after injuring his knee in a 1-0 victory over Peterborough United.

Vela has also missed a large part of the campaign with a series of injuries but is believed to be finally closing in on a first-team return.

Speaking after the under-21 fixture at the County Ground, Davies expressed his relief at finally returning to action and is looking forward to making strides back towards Championship football.

"It's been a long time coming, but it feels great to be back and involved," Davies told the club's official website.

"I've been on the sidelines for near enough a year, having done my shoulder prior to getting injured in February, so it's been really frustrating.

"It's been tough, but everyone has been so fantastic with me during that time - I've been so lucky.

"Both the first team lads and the younger ones have been there to keep my spirits up and that's always important when you pick up an injury like this.

"It's very hard mentally when you're injured for such a length of time because you sit there watching the results come in and it's upsetting that you can't do anything to help.

"Hopefully, though, soon enough I'll be back in the thick of it with the boys helping them to pick up results."

U21 is under way already. Davies and Vela both started. Wilkinson, Clough and Youngs up front again. I doubt it will finish 0-0.

It's live on LFC TV. I guess someone might be streaming it somewhere.
