You're right, they don't have to be as transparent as they were before. But I see it as a way of them getting around FFP. After all, you'd have to have been living under a stone not to know how bad our current finances are. Bit late to be trying to hide it now, wouldn't you say?Izual_Rebirth wrote:Moving to the LTD company means they don't have to be as transparent as they were before. Why? Burnden Leisure was floated in, from memory, 97?midlands exile wrote:I seem to remember it being a similar foregone conclusion when Eddie Davis "offered" the initial loan ("give me the club or I'll let the banks call the debt in") and all the shareholders' value was wiped out - including my dad's money that he'd also put in during the dark days of the 80s.
Any shares in the previous company had more use as bog roll
By the time Davies came in, Burnden Leisure shares were worthless, so I don't get there's any need for the tone used
Unless you want to pick up your dads share of the 160 million debt?
And, out of interest, how did he buy shares in the 80s
There was no share issue so far as I remember
Would you have had to go and knock on Georgie Warburtons door and offer him a few quid?

Like I said people... a slow painful death awaits. The first nail in the coffin is when the owners try to hide things from the fans and communication breaks down. Moving to the LTD company means they don't have to be as transparent as they were before. Why? Because they want to hide how bad the clubs finances are in.
The finances are a mess.
The club owes a ruck ... to the owner.
He can either collapse it ... and lose the thick end of £200m or maintain it ... or get it in shape for some other person to buy it.
They are his options.
FFP means that one 'easy' option, of continuing to chuck unbalanced cash at it, is closed off.
There is a very short queue of multi-billionaire investors/eejits who see Bolton as their dream club to chuck their money at.
The law (read that word up) prevents him from just folding it and going into Administration without taking all reasonable steps beforehand ... which seemed to be your hair-brained preference.
So we're in for a tight time. I think most of us know this.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Indeed. Whilst you have the dictionary out, or Google open, look up also fiduciary responsibility.

Sometimes you need to cut your losses. I suppose if it's a case of losing £163M now or £250M in a years time I know which one I'd do.
Sometimes you have to know when to fold them.

Idiots like this are just trolls, there are quite detailed posts countering what has been put but it's all ignored whilst they continue to bang their own issue drum. F**k off to them.

Ahem. Meanwhile, anyone got an answer to my Ltd company question?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Ok. No one cares what I have to say. I respect that. I have been accused of being confrontational in the past so for that I apologise.
If I may ask the board some questions then instead of pushing my own opinions.
* Do the majority honestly believe it's possible to reduce our losses from 50M this year to 0M by this time next year? If not by next year then by when?
* How long do you think it will be until we pay off our debt?
* Do you think the club will get by without going into administration?
* Do you think there is a limit to the amount of money the owner is willing to put into the club if losses continue? If yes how much? 200M? 500M?

Re: The Debt.
As I understand it a PRIVATE limited comoany, as opposed to a PUBLIC limited company is, in business terms essentlly the same but allows for a less detailed annual report and so a bit more secrecy, if you're bad minded.Lord Kangana wrote:I ask this question of the more knowledgeable on the forum as much as anyone, but surely a move to a LTD company would mean more transparency, not less?Izual_Rebirth wrote:I hate to say I told you so but... something is going on and it's not good. I'm not necessarily gainsaying the idea that this could be a cause for concern, by the way, just seeking clarification.

I think they are very important questions that anyone who cares about the club needs to ask themselves. You might dislike me and that's fair enough. I'm not a very likeable person.jaffka wrote:I think I was the first person who entertained you.Izual_Rebirth wrote:Ok. No one cares what I have to say. I respect that. But the questions are valid and, I think, important.

I'm not against the questions. But please stop saying the only choice we have is administration. You keep giving me knightmares.

Re: The Debt.
I apologise for saying that. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I just fear we will turn into the next Portsmouth that's all. I don't want this to drag out for year and years and years and tarnish the image of the club.
