Don't Norwich & West Brom operate at a profit, suggesting that they're well worth the money they're paying them?

Premier league wages don't just apply to the players.

Nice little gravy train for those...

They seem to be here and there either side of profit compared to BWFC/others' massive losses but in three of those cases I would expect decent results as they've just got a massive cash boost from recent promotion.

I think the point I'm making is that it is a lot for these also-rans to have pay matching or exceeding the bosses of the very biggest clubs (companies).

I don't know how much merit there was to it, but there were plenty articles raving about what Cortese was doing at Southampton.

Parachute payment used to pay off the bank debt so now we only owe £150 odd million to Eddie !! Paying off the debt to the bank may have cost us the Juke but as the bank could have foreclosed us for non payment of the money at least we stay in business.

According to Iles we do that every few years. Pay off the overdraft and setup another one. Like 0% credit cards. Nothing to see here. Certainly not the emergency situation the Sun made it out to be.

Of course the overall situation is well discussed but this little bit of activity doesn't seem like much drama to me. Club obviously knew the date of the parachute payment and used the overdraft knowing it was coming.

Where it gets a bit hairy is borrowing money today against two or three years of season ticket sales or [in theory if not in the actual loan contract] some magical increase in revenue in the future (promotion)

Not really the point if we're still losing money hand over fist. Eventually the parachute payments will stop.

Given our striker shortage, do you think we should loan a young Premier League reserve or take a chance on a minor-league foreigner?

I'm just wondering if you have more than one opinion, you see.

A mixture of experience and youth to be honest. There are plenty of decent forwards in the League 1 who I'd love to see us take a chance on. Someone like Callum Wilson would have been a good signing.
