Freedman - The Good Points

There is a Duggie out thread, which at the time of typing this is on its 138th page.

Therefore in the interest of balance, this thread will provide an opportunity for people to post what they think he has done good.

Very difficult to do without damning with faint praise, but I'll have a think about it. What's my deadline and word rate?

I like how he seems to have run Alan Nixon out of the club, his sensational and breaking stories seem to have dried up.

When he came in I like the fact that he had been so thorough in his research of the game, meant he took it very seriously and had a professional approach.
I hope that he's been doing some things right somewhere and the next manager will benefit from this.
I can't think of any though so this is me clutching at straws.

Getting off the car parks is easier.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

OK, here goes. Many of these answers raise their own questions but here's not the place for that:

* Tried different systems - a welcome change after the soft 4-4-2 we had become.
* Brought in Dawson.
* Refused to be bossed around by Kevin and Emma Davies.
* Took to 7th - 6th, for a while - a group of players Coyle had in 17th.
* Released some (alleged) high-earners.
* Strengthened the full-back positions for nowt with Tierney and Baptiste.
* Signed youngsters with potential; Hall, White, Wilkinson.
* Shown a distinct intention to promote Academy youngsters, especially Odelusi.
* Signed, for not much money, dangerous tier-two players Beckford and Moritz.
* Acknowledged the fans' desire to sign Spearing (and Dawson).
* Realised our players weren't good enough and brought in Feeney, Danns and McNaughton.
* Dropped Knight and Wheater, whose early-season defending was dark comedy.
* In the absence of alternatives, got good performances from centre-back pairing of Mills & Ream.

Well he's educated me. Now I know that when two of your players score three goals away at the league leaders - you should drop them for the next game. It just didn't occur to a simpleton like me. :conf:

That's the biggest positive he's brought to club, now all the fans have been educated in football. :wink:

Nixon wrote the Danny Graham story for the Mirror. Dunno if he broke it, though.

yep it is and how much shite is in there still

clearly the management if they have cut off Nixon think that him having knowledge of what we were planning on doing was a bad thing. I agree
