and the kidz
From what has been said by Iles et al pre season it sounds like Wilkinson is the only young striker we've got who realistically is close to being ready to playing in our first team.

But as said by Iles Dougie feels many of the youngsters need to go on loan somewhere where they can play regularly for experience.
... better than nothing...

odelusi, eaves, hall?? - all listed on our official site as strikers...
Eaves is going on loan from what I've heard. ANYWHERE. And will be moved on because he isn't very good from all accounts.

Hall isn't a striker. At all. He's like a not-so-good Raheem Sterling.

Odelusi is not a striker either and possibly injured as hasn't been involved in pre-season from what I can gather.

the club says they are strikers...

we have (strikers)

Beckford, Davies, Eaves, Wilkinson, Clough, Youngs, Iliev, Odelusi, Hall - all of them named in the first team squad...

Eaves won't be here. Hall, Odelusi, Youngs ain't strikers.

Iliev will be in the reserves or somewhere on loan. Same for Clough.

Leaves us with Beckford, Davies and at a push Wilkinson.

Yeah, they can call them strikers all they want, they aren't, and won't be playing there. They had Gardner listed as a midfielder in about his 5th year as first choice LB.

I hope we get Mason and a target man for him to play off. He was ace in his second spell, not just goals but he is busy and works the channels. The kind of player Beckford should be.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere, so Dougie talking post-Port Vale about stuff

From watching a few of the vids of different players this pre-season sounds on the harsher end of the scale. Dougie talks about making sure everyone has played 90 minutes and is fit for the start of the season, so lesson learned from last year!? Also it's interesting hear DF talk about Beckford as a team player who helps out the kids... I didn't necessarily get that impression so interesting to hear!

There was an article in the BN a while ago where Freedman said he totally changed things round from last pre-season to be more games and heavier preparation as he felt he got it wrong last time.

↑↑↑ But when I say he got it wrong last year you call me out. Sheesh.

Anyway ... He wants a better start than last season (tick) and wants three attacking players in and he never even mentioned three going out. As he has at least nine vacancies I understand that.

contrary to what we often hear - I have found Dougie to be fairly reasonable when it comes to admitting he got summat wrong... it's not summat Coyle or Megson (or - indeed - Allardyce!!) were famous for!

No. I said pre-season results don't matter. At all.

I thought we didn't play enough games last pre season. And it seems like we've corrected that this time round. So good.

As borne out by our worst start to a season by any football club since the Precambrian Era.
