Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Big Sam always used to get sarky and patronising about fans thinking they knew something about the game (which was annoying but you could kind of forgive it, given we were getting into Europe and all...)
The thing with Big Sam though (and even more irritatingly and soul-destroyingly with Megson) was that, even if you didn't like or agree with what he was doing, you could mostly make sense of it.
Most of the time, I can't make head nor tail of Freedman's team selection, tactics or substitutions.
Depressing.

The thing that made me sad about Freedman was that his subs in the season we finished 7th weren't just good, they were exactly what I would done. I would say 'he should bring on x for y', and about 5 mins later the player comes on for the right player. It was amazing!EverSoYouri wrote:Most of the time, I can't make head nor tail of Freedman's team selection, tactics or substitutions.
Now he's leaning towards Coyle substitutions, where you would have no idea of what or why. Bury at home was probably the worst one, Pratley and Trotter were in the middle of a 442, Pratley was running around and Trotter was basically dead on his feet, and yet he took Pratley off for Danns, meaning by the time the game got to 3-2 and we were defending our extra time lead, Trotter was like a statue. Still confused to this day how Trotter wasn't taken off.
I miss Zat Knight already.

Know what ya mean. Mind you, I'm still confused as to why Colin Todd didn't bring on Michael Johanssen when Arsenal were down to ten men...

I think the new transfer thread needs some anger. I nominate JetSetWilly. Plenty of scope there

Don't worry though, the lesser-known loan window will soon be upon us!!!!1
