To Elland back! - Leeds (A) 8/3/14

Post by Enoch » Mon Mar 03, 2014 9:28 am

No doubt that wanker Freedman will do a hat full of ridiculous things between now and five o'clock Saturday. Just so long as we get chance to ridicule him all will be fine. I'm going for six changes, two of which will be unfathomable and at least four stupid comments.

Cracking thread title* though, even if I do say so myself.

We're starting to pick up some lovely form and play some good stuff. Leeds are a team IN CRISIS since the ownership OVERHAUL cast a SHADOW over the club.

2-0 loss.

To Elland Back was a Leeds fanzine in the 90s.

Checking that online, I discovered that someone's selling old copies of Tripe 'n' Trotters for six quid a pop. At that rate there's a box in my loft worth about a thousand quid... :?

This time next year you'll be a millionaire.

That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Was hoping for a stream for this match but Spurs vs Chelsea is on at that time so I'd doubt it.

Never in doubt. A continued excellent performance and a splendid win for the Whites. 2-0 I think.

Leeds are average at best and have been on the slide apart from that freak Hudds win. Be bold and keep doing what we've been doing at home and we should win. We've ground out some defensive wins but now not the time to return to the backs to the wall mentality. Maybe I'm naive but let's get stuck in.

442 and we'll spank em, revert to a defensive 451 and we'll get spanked.

I'm banking on DR not bottling it. 2-0 to the whites and mid table obscurity beckoning.

I don't see what the Doctor has to do with anything but I hope Freedman selects a bold starting xi

I fear a false dawn rising here for no other reason than Freedman's propensity to take that that works and make it not work. :hang:

I hear you. I feel spring is in the air, though, and we will be gamboling like little lambs trotters.

You'll have a hard time finding any friendly pub in Leeds...

Only ever went to Elland Road a couple of times. The most memorable one was going from work (Liverpool) on a Wednesday night for a cup game( sometime mid sixties?) . Had to leave the car on some sort of an unfinished bit of motorway and walk a fair old way in the fog....to find the ground full and we were locked out. Must have been a hell of a lot of folk in the same boat because walking there was like a pilgimage to Santiago de Compostela, ie a lot of pilgrims. Had to walk back to the car and catch some of the match on radio. We lost....not my finest night. :(

That was the 1976 3rd round, 2nd replay v Newcastle Tango.

I went to Leeds Uni and so popped down to Elland Road a good few times. The natives are fckg crackers. In those days, "when winters were winters" these clowns would go to winter night matches in t-shirts and with their scarves tied round their wrists.

"We are Leeds !" indeed.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
