Re: Visit of the Orangemen from Dublin....
Just back from the game, we started the first 5 mins brightly, then faded. We just couldn't find any rhythm, constantly giving the ball away.
Far too much reliance on the long ball from Wheater/Knight (despite Mavies screaming for it). Juke n Mason won a lot of the balls, but their centre backs generally seemed to handle the duo.
Don't remember any big saves by Bogdan, Blackpool did get into our box a few times but didn't really threaten.
Credit to Wheater for the goal but quite a tepid performance. If we play like that on Saturday we'll be lucky to get a draw.

So, me deciding to save myself 3 hrs on the road and instead going to my boozer and doing my weekly quiz wasn't too bad an idea then ?boltonboris wrote:feck me I've just woke up and missed the bus

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Hardly anybody cheered when we scored because they was to busy messing on their phones or similar. Re: Visit of the Orangemen from Dublin....
If we play like that against anybody with a player who can shoot straight we'll get right royally tonked. Lashing a ball at a player, who immediately lashes it right back and it finishes back with Bogdan or Knight to launch it into arctic air-space (somebody mentioned live hand-grenades a while back?) is not a passing game. Looked more like a panic game at times.wonka wrote: If we play like that on Saturday we'll be lucky to get a draw.

^^ Which is the odd thing as our recent re-awakening (against Blackburn and Leeds) had us playing on the ground, being eager to the ball and showing some real flair.TANGODANCER wrote:If we play like that against anybody with a player who can shoot straight we'll get right royally tonked. Then Derby where we held on by the skin of our teeth and then the disaster v Brighton and a scraped draw at Yeovil. This is some good run !!

Re: Visit of the Orangemen from Dublin....
Not an entertaining game but sometimes you as long as we're winning no-one can complain. It's all about grinding out results which is what we've really struggled to do since getting relegated.
I was going to comment on how good the ref was today and that he really let the game flow and didn't book players unnecessarily, but then I realised it was Mark Clattenburg and complimenting him leads to a forum ban does it not?

Re: Visit of the Orangemen from Dublin....
It's a bit worrying how defenders are allowed to drag front men about without incurring free kicks (not ours of course, they can get clogged at will). Baptiste got penalised and sent off (yeah, I know it was two yellows) and incurred a hissy fit from Dougie for less clog than Juke took on a few occasions tonight.AbrahM wrote:Not an entertaining game but sometimes you as long as we're winning no-one can complain. This was a dull game, beginning, middle, end.
No more to be said.

I often comment, when just back from the game. But there wasn't much to say. Zat Knight's header against our own post was probably the highlight for me.
I've seen much better nil - nils.

I did a spectacularly pungent fart midway through the 2nd half which a group of lads behind me spent the next 10 mins blaming each other for. That was my highlight, and a source of considerable pride.Worthy4England wrote:I often comment, when just back from the game. But there wasn't much to say. Always a valuable experience for the youngsters .... and bravo.

Surely if the kids in your class spend 10 mins arguing about who dealt it then they are not doing any work. Who would have thought that the actions of a male teacher would be a distraction to a class.LeverEnd wrote:A skill I've been perfecting in the classroom for the last 15 years.bobo the clown wrote:↑↑↑LeverEnd wrote:I did a spectacularly pungent fart midway through the 2nd half which a group of lads behind me spent the next 10 mins blaming each other for.
