They came together through a mutual dislike of Nerys Hughes.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I don't really know what to do with that...
But they commenced as a band in 1984 .... 30 years ago.

You aren't going all Kate Bush on us are you Pru ??
:D no. I just never envisioned HMHB coming across the radar of our resident Flamenco-loving Tango Dancer. No reason why they shouldnt like, just knocked me from my comfort zone!

Due to the advent of things like television I had to expand away from pipe-smoking crooners with leather patches on the elbows of their sports coats.....Then again, kids, and then grand kids, enforced their musical ..er..tastes into my world at family gatherings etc. But worry not Pru, there are of course, no biscuit men or such-like in my music collection.

I haven't even started yet Tango me owd, still at work. I may have been negatively influenced by an Uddersfield man, he was giving me propaganda last night and I might have imbibed one too many negative vibes - tell you what, I'll revise my estimate, 3-1 how's that? :|

Any pearls of wisdom with regard to parking, pre-match refreshments etc. please?

If you like proper ale (like what I do) then get yourself to the King's Head near the railway station.
I know nowt about parking as I've only been there by train.

Not a bad shout, as returning to Sheffield after, and would set me on the slippery slope to a couple in the Sheffield Tap... Much appreciated, thanks

Nope, you're still way off the mark Spot. This is the rejuvenated Dougie bravehearts you are talking about; the fearless warriors who pounded the Wigan walls and defeated the Blackpudlians. Led by the mighty Juke we'll strike fear into the white rosers and emerge with another victory.(always assuming Juke plays and we don't have Zat on the wing, of course).

I'll second that plan. Went last year as a bit of a mini ale trail stopping at a few stations on the way. Go early if you're heading from Bolton area and get one in at Stalybridge station too. Plus there's a couple more stops between there and Huddersfield for the way back.
I'm at a wedding or would be doing the same again.

Thanks for the advice. Flying solo, so will be the one at the King's Head with a beard, a pint, and a slightly anxious expression :|
