Bollox. That's going to be difficult now !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

A Macron marketing tie-in I see.
I don't know why but whenever I hear of Vitesse Arnhem I think of British Tommies floating down on parachutes and being machine gunned by nasty Nazi types.

I go to Arnhem quite a bit - there's barely a pre-war building to be seen anywhere.

Anyhow, here's a relitively little known fact for you, Spotto, Vitesse play in a well jazzy stadium that has a retractable roof and a removable pitch which they wheel outside to put concerts on.
May the bridges I burn light your way

:D when they wheel the grass out do they leave the mud indoors and turn the sprinklers on to create a 'proper' festival atmosphere?

Little known fact of the day for you, but more men landed by glider than by parachute. And it wasn't just Tommies, but a Frenchman, 10 Yanks, a bunch of Rhodesians and a small group of German and Austrian Jews. And a couple of Dutchmen. And some Poles. Aswell as the Tommies. Naturally.

We stayed just up the coast from here about 10 years ago in a place called Quineville (near Monteburg). It's a fantastic place which seems to have changed little since the war. They even have stripped out landing craft and tanks along the roadside which kids paly on like climbing frames. Monteburg also has a Musee du Lait. :oyea:

Yves Harcourt (IIRC). A guide that was attached to 4th Parachute Brigade for their role as reserve for the Normandy campaign. He never reached Dutch soil alive. Which is the same fate that befell the single chicken (by the name of Myrtle) also belonging to 4th Parachute Brigade. So one Frenchman and one chicken. For clarity.

So, the Scandinavian friendlies are almost upon us. Bronby on Thursday evening, with Elmander a possible starter (for them!). The Danish Superliga starts this weekend, so I'm expecting it to be something to nil. And it's pay at the gate -
