I used to be of the school that pre-season friendlies counted for nowt. Generally, I'm still of a similar mind, unless you happen to look really, really shite with your likely 1st team playing, in which case the likely outcome will be another season of total dross.

Not sure I've seen much on the signings front to cheer me up yet. Maybe with the pre-season prep, he's got us punching above our weight like Costa Rica. I'll probably not be holding my breath...

Out of interest would any of you be up for going to Chorley vs the reserves on sat 26th?

Didn't know where to put this. This is a "behind the scenes look" at the squads first day of training in Denmark yesterday, and their journey. I like stuff like this.

If you go on the Bolton Wanderers youtube page there is a video diary with Rob Hall. Which is as one probably imagines it to be absolutely dreadful. So I'll not bother linking it here.

Broadly agree Worthy. I don't have much confidence for next season as things stand.

However, we are nowhere near as bad as this.....which may provide some small comfort.

The "pre-season results don't count for anything" mantra is all well & good and clearly factually correct, but the past 2 or 3 seasons pre-season games have had performances which were simply appalling and ... as it turned out ... pretty much how the seasons then went on.

So, yep ... results are nowt, but showing fitness, drive, organisation and a bit of flexibility of formation are. Let's see what happens this time.

I was more appealing to those local to Chorley/Horwich/Bolton/Preston. However thanks for responding despite being on the other side of the world.

Very jerky but I think Elmander just scored.

Thanks, the Danish commentary is better too.
