Huge black bloke, slight beard, carrying a bit of weight, sort of hung around in the centre circle following the game rather than being involved in it ... and size 14 or so orange boots.Worthy4England wrote:Was wondering how you picked him out, with no number, then it all came flooding back, just look for the one with the same mobility as a telephone box.bobo the clown wrote: Trottter played and was maybe just a little out of his depth.
My biggest issue was that they played with 1-11 on their backs and no names so, to be blunt, quite a few I watched with no idea who they were..
I hope to fck it was him or we have two of the sods.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Not fit to hold the laces for the man lacing his boots.

Sign him up straight away. Seems he's got all the necessary attributes to be our no.1 choice centre halfbobo the clown wrote:Huge black bloke, slight beard, carrying a bit of weight, sort of hung around in the centre circle following the game rather than being involved in it ... and size 14 or so orange boots.Worthy4England wrote:Was wondering how you picked him out, with no number, then it all came flooding back, just look for the one with the same mobility as a telephone box.bobo the clown wrote: Trottter played and was maybe just a little out of his depth.

I had taken time off from here after the end of the season, back now feeling slightly optimistic.
How have we been performing in pre season ?

Right. Taking my 5 year old son to his first match tomorrow. It better be good or else I may lose him to some Premier League team.
Sorry son. I know it will end up with years of hurt and disappointment.

Doing the same with my 4 yr old daughter tomorrow by taking her to her first game. My 7yr old lad has had a season ticket since he was 4 and hes now hooked on the Wanderers (like a good parent, I gave him no choice) and now he wants to be Boltons goalie when hes older.malcd1 wrote:Right. My dad took me to my first game aged 6. Never looked back. I sometimes ask him if he thinks it was cruelty?

Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal
My dad took me to my first game ....A night match against Stretford. We stood on a packed Embankment, beneath the Signal Box, on shale kept in by railway sleepers. We lost 0-2..It was 1963. I've supported them.ever since. Seen lows and moderate highs, lows and great highs. We're in a moderate low now I think.
I couldn't contemplate supporting anyone else. Not even.a 'second team', not even the town I've lived near for 30 years. I take an interest, but when I watch I really can't care.
My elder brother, around 1968, as we slid further down decided to support Citeh ... Thevery good one with Lee, Bell, SSummerbee etc. Just decided to. I was bemused. How can you do that ?

Re: Pre season friendlies at Macc, Preston, Tranmere and Dal
I took myself to my first game. Old Man is a City fan and took me to watch Bury for my first game 2 of my brothers support a team that play in red and took me to some games in the hope of signing me up (TBF, they were all born in Manchester. I'm a Heywood lad). I wasn't having a bar of it and once old enough to persuade my Mum I could go alone I got the bus to Burnden. I must have been about 12, can't remember who it was against now (Might've been Port Vale), but standing on Burnden Terrace I knew I was home

My 4 yr old has just proclaimed "Daddy, Bolton are rubbish . I'm going to play Sophia the first on my tablet!". I think this one is a lost cause, but can't argue with her.
WTF are Pratley and Beckford doing? They're fecking shite.

The negative side of me can see 0-1 being a common scoreline at home this season if we dont sign someone who can score, or help us get the best of beckford.
