You do get it on facebook as well, which serves no purpose other than to annoy you!Andy Waller wrote:EverSoYouri wrote:Andy Waller wrote:#why #do #people #write #like #this #?

Lol! I know it's irritating, Andy, but the (underlying) idea of the hashtags (#) is to increase the range and number of people who will see the posting. Some people, for example, will have their counts set to seek out anything with the hashtag #BWFC.
So basically, it's attention seeking?

when coyle took 'em down.
freedman loaning the likes of trotter might be all they can do now.
but getting toss in like andrews , ream , eagles , mears , sordell and them on big money and long contracts was stupid.
i dont even remember coyle playing ream AT ALL until the dread WBA home game. there seemed to be a long stretch were he didnt play. he did similar with sordell.
the clapping and 'bolton legend' , 'in coyle we trust' bollocks had folk distracted/hypnotized , but they were bad.

I have to admire your commitment and determination a1.
Do you work in sales by any chance?

no.Lord Kangana wrote:Do you work in sales by any chance?
time before were when todd nearly bankrupted 'em .
doesnt take much remembering . it all happened within the last 20 years.
maybe one of the allardyce or megson squads. and the sammy lee squad was bobbins too. but the coyle one was worst because of the repercussions it has had.
although i carnt remember the phil neal 4 division one, cause i tapped out of it then, and coyle's one around the cup semi final season cos i had other things on so couldnt take notice of it closely. not that i wanted to , coz he/it was pissing me off.
but the coyle relegation one is closest to now but not including now, which i think is the definition of "the last time".
so i'm probably right. but ymmv.
last time we had one this Boring , freedmans season just gone , or the one which was one of neal's where we finished mid table in "league 1" or whatever they call it this week.
and according to some we nearly went down in september last year so i'm not sure that was boring. it mustve bin crap coz it lost a lot of matches, but boring, no, i've probably bin more bored of it in the past. I remember results more.
yeah

Re: When was the last time we had a squad this poor?
It's certainly the least inspired I've ever been watching this lot.
I remember the relegation side of 86-87 well, and whilst there were some truly shocking performances, as others have said there were players like Gavin, Oghani & Caldwell who could get you off your feet.
I'd liken this lot to the side Phil Neal had in his last year as they limped towards the end of the season with nowt to play for. With the brief exception of Andy Walker, they had little creativity or attacking threat and provided zero excitement. That side was crying out for someone new to come in and freshen things up. This one is too

Re: When was the last time we had a squad this poor?
This echoes my sentiments. I've only been watching the last 20 years, but for first time there seems to be nothing 'Bolton' about the side. No young kids coming through, no long serving legends, no one who can excite. Just a bunch of journeymen who will stay a couple of years and then drift on when their contracts are up. Absolutely nothing for me to get passionate about. The club seems to have no soul at the moment.Bruce Rioja wrote:This isn't a knee-jerk reaction to your post, Will, it's something that I've thought quite a bit about recently. I've concluded that no other squad as ever left me less inspired than the current one in my 40 years. There's absolutely nothing coming back. Nothing.William the White wrote: So, I think we might have to go back to pre-Rioch days - more than 20 years - to find a Bolton squad weaker and more uninspiring than this one.
Last weekend I found myself in a strange situation. I was in Leeds for the weekend watching rugby on the Friday night and then at a wedding Saturday morning. That gave me the afternoon to kill on Saturday in Leeds. Even then I struggled to find the motivation to get me to Elland Rd and I only decided to go an hour before kick off. I was charged £40 to watch some of the most mediocre stuff I've ever seen. As an afternoon it was ok, but I won't be rushing back.

We were talking about this only the other day. My hazy recollection remembers a game against Swansea ( I think) around Easter of that season (I think!) when it was 0-0 (I think!).Harry Genshaw wrote:

It was the most nothing football match I've ever been to, and the atmosphere was awful, full of groans of anguish after yet another pass went astray, another hopeless long ball, another opportunity missed by slowness of thought, or picking the wrong pass. Swansea were equally piss poor. There was growing dissension in the crowd, with sporadic "Neal Out!" chants halfheartedly getting going. I seem to recall a low attendance too.
I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell me this didn't happen!

I just checked. It did!
(And bloody hell, I thought it was a low attendance, but 3k? My giddy aunt).

Blimey! I'd forgotten it was Neal (not Rioch) who brought Andy Walker to the club.
And just to refocus the discussion, btw, William's thread refers to 'a squad this poor' as opposed to boring times.
I really can't agree that, for all its weaknesses, the squad which came down (and if Coyle had managed to get them to defend a 2 goal lead v WBA would NOT have come down) is anywhere near as poor as the current one.

I think lacklustre would be a better word to use as opposed to poor..
On paper, it's not bad..
I know, I know.. It's played on grass etc..

I really don't understand anyone who thinks we have a decent squad. I don't think any of our squad bar a fit mark davies gets anywhere close to the first team of most of this division. I think even rotherham are man for man better than us now. I honestly can't see another great escape this year

Agreed. It really isn't. But they re being supressed. The whole style of play is negative. We go out to defend, but aren't made for the consistency tht requires. It's real dogs of war stuff, with effing puppies.boltonboris wrote:I think lacklustre would be a better word to use as opposed to poor..

If anyone out there has any flair it's stifled out of them. .... I can't imagine who I blame for that !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: When was the last time we had a squad this poor?
Hi Guys. Just back from holiday. Well, I thought it would be great to be back on here, but wow it's so depressing. I didn't see or hear the leeds game, but saw the result (I wasn't surprised) and have quickly glanced to see that we have signed nobody if i'm correct.
So....reading this thread, I am in agreement that I don't get excited by this present bunch of players. They are here to just "fill" a hole in the squad/team. They are not here to fight tooth and nail for a result (win/draw), they are going through the motions during the game....and then going home for their tea (in fact, I think they're thinking about that during the game!!
It's the worst bunch of players i have seen since supporting them
