Has he gone yet?
I'd trust either Mar or AT to host the site. Still willing to pay toward hosting costs if necessary.

Okay to get the ball rolling can Keveh please do a database dump for me where I can get it via wget on my server.
There will probably be some inconsistencies between post counts and times etc.

I see Sluffy's been banned.
Too many home truths for the mods to handle, eh?
Ah well, dissent quashed. And without answering any of his points. Well done, all.

Funny, I thought I answered all his points, most of them just his versions. Which points exactly would you like to see answered? Speak up and we'll try to oblige.Puskas wrote:I see Sluffy's been banned.

Why don't you take over the running of the site then? We're all in awe of your contributions. Go on, you can do it. You're ace!Puskas wrote:I see Sluffy's been banned.

Re: Site For Sale
Thanks, Keveh. The pleasure that you, Bench et al plus us 'commoners' have given me over the years is beyond measure.
I hope fervently that some one or group can pick up the reins and keep the site alive. I am also willing to support financially the successor(s) to Keveh. Some years ago I started a site for BWFC supporters down here in Oz. http://cgi.tripod.com/bwfcdu/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; That's the remnants of it anyway. Even though it was a very small site with only a small number of members and postings it finally impinged on my work and family life and I was obliged to shut it down. I currently have a weather web site http://blaxlandweather.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which needs from time-to-time a wee bit of attention but, in general, looks after itself. The latter is, of course, an information site as opposed to an 'interactive' construct. There is a huge difference between the two.
Whoever picks up the traces you have my support and best wishes.

Re: Site For Sale
Yes. After some discussion we agreed that Mar would be the best option. Whatever happens in the future we have 2-3 people on the site willing and able to keep the site going, so the future of the site is securedavroduk wrote:So after all the banter will anyone come forward and save the site ???

Great stuff guys and many thanks to Kev for his efforts over the years. I still have my McGinlay t-shirt somewhere!
10 years and counting is a great effort for a forum and the front page was essential reading for years

Re: Site For Sale
Sorry to hear that Kev. Thanks for everything though!
I'm happy to donate a small amount monthly to keep it going. No a very regular poster but would miss it if it disappeared.
Edit: just caught up with the thread - seems we have a saviour. Thanks Mar! Still happy to help if required.
