Building success is a bit like building a house and what we have lacked for some time is organisation, belief and, well; fight. Obduracy. An absolute inability to accept that you are not going to win. They are the foundations and all the great and successful sides have them. Lennon isn't the best manager in the world, but he will give us that.

The Celtic past is a double edged sword. On the bad side, there was not great competition and he had a lot of money. On the good side, it's one of the hottest seats around where your every move is scrutinised and criticised in a couldron of (sadly still,) religious and sectarian hatred where football is almost everything. If he can hack that and win trophies then he'll do for us. All he has to do is make this team play better than the sum of its parts and we are mid table in my view. In short, having seen him as a player, if he can mould the present squad into his own image, you have a decent championship side.
You can't built a house without belief! Or obduracy.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

A Glaswegian female friend of mine knows Neil Lennon very well, and she's just described him to me as being 'A really lovely guy'. What has Fatshaft to say about that then, eh?

Just for info, the BEN today said "The club confirmed this morning that Lennon and his staff have signed a three-year contract, rather than the one-year rolling deal that was widely reported".
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Okay, having made your point - several times over - it's now time to go on your not so merry way.

Your welcome to come back a year from now to say 'I told you so' if, having alienated players and fans, Lennon has us languishing near the bottom of League One.

Here's a tip though. Before then, it might be better for you to adopt a handle more fitted to a grown-up on a football fan site, rather than a pubescent boy hoping to sneak onto a sexually explicit Live Webcam site.

No. It's the girl that his former first team coach was carrying on with.

You're probably one of the few people on this forum who could get away with googling about dugout furniture at work :D

Out of interest, is this the first non-english or scottish manager we've had?

Comedian Stu Francis said he was “feeling positive” about Lennon’s arrival.

So that's good then. :conf:

Jimmy Mcilroy, says a google. Back in the day.

It also lists Owen Coyle as Irish. C'mon now.

Just googled it.. It was Jimmy McIlroy.

He lasted 2 games (both defeats) before binning it off and never being seen in management again.

Yep .... he lasted 18 days !!!

In those times we really knew how to have a crisis.

Well, in one case it WAS work, when forum member jonnybwfc agreed to be interviewed about buying Big Sam's bum-hugger... :)

Can't anybody Google any more? :D
Jimmy McIlroy was followed by Jimmy Meadows and then, third time lucky, Jimmy Armfield...

Other than McIlroy, every other Bolton manager has been born on this island...
