Will Carrot Top top Carrott?

Post by Andy Waller » Mon Oct 13, 2014 10:53 am

Neil's first game in charge, I'm off there for a day on the pop.

1-1 and me falling asleep on the train on the way home.
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

God that's good!
Was trying to think of a thread title and Jasper did cross my mind, but alas I floundered.

Anyway I'm going but meeting mate down there so have an empty car if anyone wants to share. Straight back for the beer festival at the rugby club.

Imagine if we'd have gotten Hughton in and you'd have said "Black face face Black country neighbours"

You would've said that wouldn't you, considering we're commenting on appearances...

I was hoping we got him in and lost the next 10 games, just so I could have used "Hughton, we have a problem..."

There is definitely a feeling of refreshment and re-energisation.

Still the same players though.

Hopefully a fairytale start, a draw would be great.

Have Birmingham still not won at home in the last 20 years or have they managed to turn that around this season?

If NL sets us up to attack then I feel we can give anyone a game in this league. Hopefully that is the way we go from now on.

I will go for a 2-1 win for the whites.

Champo home form this season:
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/home.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Birmingham - P5, W1 D2 L2, F5 A7. 20th out of 24. We're 21st... but for away games we're 24th, and they're 13th.

They also (over the 11 games, home and away) have the second-worst record in the second half (second-worst to, ahem, us) but the second-best record before the break. Weird. Accordingly, they have lost 11 points from a winning position - the worst in the division, with only Dag & Red worse across the 92 clubs.

four of the last five of our away fixtures at Brum have yielded the score 2-1 - twice in their favour, twice in ours...

I'm going to the game on Saturday, any idea what kind of following we'll be bringing lads?

Not too long a journey, reasonably priced tickets and Lennon's first game so I'd be hoping for a pretty good crowd of fans :P

Having said this isn't make or break, it would be nice to get something from the game - and to deserve it (unlike so many of the points we somehow scrambled under DF).

The key to NL's reign (given that he won't be able to buy a new team come January) is going to be his ability to make this bunch of under-performers start to perform (and then, with any luck, over-perform). Early steps in the right direction (against a team with a dire home record) will lift the mood in the camp (and on the terraces).

Performance-wise, we might have got a little of the post-manager 'bounce' against Bournemouth, but the fact remains, losing to ten men is a poor result. I'm hopeful NL can bring us a better performance and a deserved result this Saturday. 2-1 to us.

I know everyone is being all cool and "lets's not get carried away"..."there won't be instant results"..."it takes time" etc..

BUT - I will be very disappointed if we don't win!

there - I've said it! :-)

According to the BWFC Official Facebook page we've sold 1100 tickets so far. Hopefully that'll be around the 1500 mark by Saturday, especially if it's pay on the day. Big chance for a dream start here!

Well I've not bught mine and my mate's ticket yet so add those on.
Very much looking forward to it. Although an immediate turnaround might be a bit much to ask, Birmingham aren't much better than us under Dougie, so there's every chance of a scrappy win.
Space in the car if anyone fancies a lift?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

We'd sold 600 by last Saturday. Usually, we add no more than a couple of hundred in the days running up to the game. We've already sold over 500 in the three days since NL was appointed. As you say, could well be 1,500 on the day, especially as our next two aways are Charlton on Tuesday and Norwich on a Friday night.
