We can land on a fecking comet yet still we have a grown man parading round as a lion. It's ridiculous.

You can f'cough.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Spose this fits better in here:
Prufrock wrote:I'm surprised at myself but I actually quite like the lion. Firstly it's good for the kids - my brother fecking loved it when he was younger.

More importantly though, I think it's the complete opposite of an embarrassment. It might be an embarrassment if we were the only ones doing it, but every club has one, and theirs are ALL shit. Instead of being a shit alliteration on our ground (Deepdale Duck) a Hammer with eyes or a fecking dinosaur, ours actually represents something - the greatest fella to ever pull on that shirt, and arguably his greatest performance.

Keep Lofty!

That Lofty Jnr can f*ck off though, he were shit.

Good thing. Although I wish (he) would do more to get the crowd going. His Elvis routines and his bodybuilding poses always got the crowd going during flatter parts of the game and my daughter loves (loved) him.

Better than fireworks, drums, mosaics or fat feck* with flags.

Our very own Lofty has to stay.

Totally agree about Lofty jnr. though. nice person.

Scrappy doo syndrome.

I voted for, because he's generally quite popular. don't think that before this discussion I would have noticed if he'd suddenly stopped turning up.

Don't really see the point in jr. Is he there to appeal to the kids? If so, what the feck is Lofty proper for?

I voted bad thing for these reasons:
He's a thing.
He's a top predator supposedly, so he needs some teeth.
If I voted it in as a good thing then I'm not sure I could still comfortably fit into the grumpy old git demographic - and I'm happy there.

Now, what I really want is for mascot battles at half time... Lofty, f'rinstance, ripping the (stuffed) innards out of Rammy the ram. That'd be educational for the kids...
That's not a leopard!

Completely agree with all the positive comments made about him. Lofty in!

Mind you, if he were to accidentally wear his shorts the wrong way around there'd be uproar.
Hope is what keeps us going.
