Good

His best hope is that his availability coincides with one the next few Leeds managerial appointments. And it's one of his mates.

Can't help but think this is to pave the way for a new forward coming in, whether that is Eidur or Hooper or someone else. From transfermarkt it says Beckford's contract is up at the end of the season so it would make sense that we are getting rid. Going out on loan worked for Craig Davies but I don't expect us to see Beckford any more.

Hopefully Eidur will sign (if he's still capable) as that would provide decent cover I would imagine. Doubtful Hooper will come on board but I think that would be a good signing.

Just checked again this morning ... in case it was a dream. He really has gone.

He did well for Grayson at Dirty Leeds and again at Huddersfield so maybe it'll work but his attitude stank. Maybe he was used to adoring fans who would support his diving and flopping about but it was clear he disliked the fans here as much as we did him. Just another waste of space cleared out.

I think people who reckon his attitude was his problem probably had that opinion before he arrived.

Every game I've seen him in he's been a model professional. A shit one, but I never doubted his effort or application. Hope he finds whatever it was he used to have when he was last at that level.

I disagree there, to an extent. I think his approach and playstyle stank, but his attitude seemed alright. He never seemed lazy or uninterested in the fans or club in interviews and press releases. I just don't think his "luxury poacher" playstyle suited ours. He's just another talented player who instead of grafting and chasing the ball, threw his arms up every time he lost possession or a pass didn't come his way. If he spent more time moving and chasing than throwing his arms up in frustration I think he'd be a good double-digit striker.
Which is sort of what I meant about his attitude.

Fundamentally idle on the pitch. If it didn't come to him he wasn't going to go to it. Flopping to the ground with the slightest impact, let his head drop when he didn't get the ball ... or a decision go his way. Showed zero fight or desire.

The last match of last season, v Birmingham, summed him up for me.

The fact that he could ... should ... have been a goal-scorer just makes it worse as he made little of the talents he had.

Anyway, he's Preston's problem now.

I was quite excited when he arrived as I was pro dougie at the time and thought he'd do well. He managed to turn my view around with his on pitch sulkiness and negative body language when not getting his own way. Re fans, I was at Crewe and saw his petulant reaction to scoring, deliberate non celebration. Fair enough as he'd been recently booed but I think you're over-generous about his attitude.

To echo one or two opinions above.

I don't feel he has a bad attitude, or is lazy, I just think he's a bit shit.

As said before, he gave him a chance that he didn't take, Craig Davies has seized his and I'm delighted to see it. I think beckford is one of those players who peak early and then gradually slide. Like a less extreme version of Francis Jeffers.

I think it's for Keith Lemon...Some sort of bizarre non-rhyming slang for Neil Lennon.
