Re: Heskey -SSN
Seeing as we're woefully short on forward options at the minute this might prove to keep us going over the festive period. After all 2 games in 3 days even with a fully fit squad would be testing.
As long as we keep this upward momentum going that's the main thing.

If someone had said four months ago that we'd be going into the Boxing Day derby with Neil Lennon in charge and the possibility that Gudjohnsen and Heskey would be leading the line they'd quite rightly have been labelled a raving nutter.

Relatively happy with this. If Lennon thinks he's good enough, then that's good enough for me. Lets hope he can give us that presence up front when we're missing Craig.

Exactly that, Fella. And he can't be any worse than Beckford's been.truewhite15 wrote:Relatively happy with this. If Lennon thinks he's good enough, then that's good enough for me. Lets hope he can give us that presence up front when we're missing Craig.

Can't imagine that Heskey will fall over as much and then moan to the ref about not getting a free kick
Pfffft.

Re: Heskey -SSN
As others have said, if Lennon has looked at him in training and the under 21s match and thinks he has something to offer, I'm happy to go along with that. Heskey was always unfairly criticised during his peak because he wasn't good enough for England yet got picked regardless, but he wasn't a bad player, so hopefully he's still got plenty left. I like the fact that despite having a long, successful career and a media job to walk into, Heskey has decided to carry on playing in a tough, physically demanding league. That suggest he's got the right attitude at least.
