Bolton fans views needed

Hi everyone, apologies for interrupting the Bolton talk,
I'm a final year student in the research stage of my dissertation project. The project is based around the under-representation of ethnic minorities in football, my research will mostly be carried out by using the views of football fans of all ethnicity and will be collected via online survey, which can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/genfan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Done, but one of your questions is poorly phrased and non- sensical and another states that the EDL have become involved in football. Really?? Where is your evidence for this?

If people want to attend games, they will do, and I don't know why there's always this effort to make sure everyone gets involved. I remember watching an episode of Countryfile a while ago and they were talking about how to get more ethnic minorities in the countryside...why? It's there for them and if they want to go, they will, I don't see the point of all these schemes to get people involved. If people aren't attending football matches, it's probably because their background has no association with football and therefore it's not an integral part of their community like it is for others who have grown up around football or it's because they're not as privileged and don't have the £100 or so to spend on going to a football match with their family.

I've never seen any exclusion at a football match or anything else that pushes people away, I just don't think they want to attend. 50% of the population are female but nowhere near 50% of supporters are female, and that's the same thing. Women are perfectly welcome in any stadium but the interest just isn't there and I don't know why people want to force the issue to ensure everyone gets involved. If they want to attend, great, but if not, that's their choice, there's nobody to blame.

There has to be blame...I think the premise of the rise of the EDL at football matches certainly isn't universal - I've not spotted any racist chanting at Burnden/Reebok/Macron since about 1977 - there was probably some still going round in the early 80's. I'm not sure how I'd spot "the EDL" at a Bolton match (unless they were the ones packing muslamic rayguns)

I think it has become an expensive day out, as SF says, which is partially why there's half empty stadia, but given that we generally have a half empty stadium, I'm not sure what the League/FA/Other people would be expected to do, other than keep the ticket prices as competitive as possible.

Did I hear a quote over the weekend that Stoke has sold 98% of their tickets during their Premier League era?

Thanks everyone for the feedback, what question was nonsensical? I'll be sure to reword it.
I've now removed the EDL question, I meant the increase in members of the EDL since 2009, and their association with football not so much as their physical presence at the stadium, but more the fact that they arose from football hooliganism and they often use football chants at their demos, leading people to believe they have a connection to football.
